Good day Steemian and welcome, this is more than just a price update on the Steem cryptocurrency for 4/12/2025, under the hood it's been a 9 year project.
We have been posting here since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com back in 2016, I have attended many Steem official events and represented Steem at smaller ones.

There as never been a single power-down made on this account for all those active years, our mission is to retain and rise the price of Steem for the benefit of us all. We do this by not only holding STEEM but by also buying into STEEM from time to time. Doing such things rises the price of STEEM meaning your investment goes up in value and so does your earned rewards.

Casting your upvote here keeps Steem locked to raise it's value for us all. We also try to use some of that Steem to buy even more, we are a top 300 Steem investor. That is not to brag but simply proof of work.

Dec 2025- Hello Steem supporters, made it for another day and hopefully more if the body continues the fight. The zombie doctor nonsense continues on, I feel a little better today when compared to yesterday. The pain on my side for the moment eased down, I just hope work won't trigger it has today will likely be a difficult day. I can't seem to get away from my least favourite superior which is so frustrating. I was expecting the afternoon shift to be a partial escape, but nope, unbelievably she's now doing the afternoon shift today ARGH😡! Anyway today I had the opportunity to play a NES game called Rainbow Islands. While I like the name, often games like this have very little substance to them, so let's see. The tittle screen starts the game well, well partially, because while the colours and music are great I don't like how very quickly the game throws out it's demo. Like this it gives you little time to enjoy and grasp the tittle screen, however during the demos shown the music doesn't break. I think this was a great choice because the game does have some sweet title screen music, it's both a joyful and sad theme depending on how you look at it. I wonder if the developers decided to show the demo quickly so that players could learn the games basics on how to play quickly. It could be an attempt to try and stop some from getting frustrated with the game during the beginning stages. But what I think was likely a mistake, was to put on the tittle screen that this game is part 2 "The Story of Bubble Bobble 2" you can search more on this online if your interested to why it makes things slightly more confusing.

Still the game prompts you to press start, sadly it's a disappointing start. The game throws a screen full of numbers that initially might not make any sense, and then your suddenly on top of a beautiful pink castle ready to start playing the game with no story or explanation. There were no options to pick from the tittle screen at any point, it was just straight to the game. So what is Rainbow Islands? I would say it's basically a arcade like platformer, no surprise it's a platformer on the NES but what do I mean by the "arcade like" part? I would say think of the Donkey Kong NES game or Ice Climbers, instead of going from the left screen to right in Rainbow Islands your making your way upwards improving your score total. Compared to other tittles Rainbow Islands does look very nice with it's bright colours and themes, it's no surprise for that to be a big appeal for this game. Your character has a nice sized jump, the movement is mostly ok but could be better. If your jump isn't enough you can use your rainbow power to get to higher places by firing a rainbow. Yes it's a surprising and actually cool ability, but it's not just used for jumping higher, your rainbow firing ability is also used to defeat enemies and pick up objects. Speaking of the objects which I guess are more like treasures, they are mostly cool different coloured crowns, diamonds, jewels, necklaces etc. There are also foods to collect like apples, candy, cakes etc all these help your high score. But they also grant you the power to enhance your rainbow firing ability, and that's not all it can also provide methods for wiping out enemies quickly or protective shields so that enemies die on impact.

While that may sound like some decent substance for the game it is all kept relatively simple. And while it's simple there is something fun and satisfying about it that just about pulls it away from falling into the boring category. However there are things I don't like, the first thing are the foods that are already placed in the level, when you go to collect them there is no indication you collected the item, they just simply disappear and this doesn't feel satisfying at all. This is a big contrast from the items dropped by defeated enemies, not only do you get a sound effect for each collected item but you also see a number pop to display how much it was worth. And it doesn't end there with the enemy dropped items you might also get a ability. I really wished for something similar for all collectables items. Another thing I "mostly don't like" is there's a timer! To make this timer worse you can't actually see it, but part of the fun is defeating the enemies on screen and collecting their treasure. The invisible timer forces you to not bother with certain enemies, it also pushes you to not stay long looking at the games cute graphics which is a shame. However the timer does push for the game to be more challenging, and stops it form potentially reaching down to the boring category, and it's for this reason I said I "mostly don't like it" because I do think it's got it's uses.

Thankfully on the upside if you die in a level you return to the beginning of the world you are in, this is much better than starting right from the beginning of the game which is a very annoying problem for many NES tittles. With the little time I had I reached nearly the end of world 2, I fought a boss at the end of word 1 and was disappointed with the lack of detail on that stage during the battle, however it did help "I guess" for you to solely focus on the boss which may not be a bad thing. Going forwards I hope for the game to continue to hold my interest with captivating cute themes and interesting enemies. Gameplay wise I'm not expecting to see much else, but I do hope for better bosses. Hope you all have a good day or night and I will hopefully see you on the next Steemit post.
