Steemit Update [October 21st, 2024] : Community Curators for November - Applications Open

in #steemit2 months ago

We hope you are all enjoying the new format for the Community Curator teams again this month.

For November we are continuing with the small teams.

For this coming month, there will be a continued move towards a more ‘freestyle’ approach to Community Curation.

The Community Curators for November

For November we are inviting people interested in becoming Community Curators to apply in teams of two or three.

For November there will be a minimum SP requirement of 2500SP for each team member.

The members of each team should ideally all be of different nationalities and live in different regions of the world.

They should also not be Admins or Moderators in the same communities.

For November, all seven teams will be free to vote on any types of post as long as they are not plagiarized or created by AI.

One of the teams will be the lucky holders of the bigger @steemcurator03 account (1.2 million SP). The other teams will each have around 700K SP.

We want teams to very much look beyond communities. There are many good posts that are outside of any communities - just directly on people’s personal blogs.

Teams should seek out these often neglected authors.

The Curation Teams in November should allocate a portion of their voting power for voting on the best comments.

High quality human generated comments add extra richness to the Steem blogging ecosystem.

Good comments can be as interesting and as valuable as good posts.

We want good comments to be encouraged and rewarded.

How to Apply as a Community Curator Team

One member of the team should make a post including…

  • Details of each team member, including their history on Steem and any positions of responsibility they have held on the platform

  • The nationality, languages and country of residence of each team member

  • The key stats of each team member (own SP, CSI, Reputation, Delegations).

Please note that each person can only be included in one application.

Keep posts brief and easy to follow. Include the tag #curatorapplication in the first four tags.

Applications can be made in any language.

Posts should be submitted by 11.59pm UTC, on Monday, October 28th, 2024.

How Community Curators will be rewarded

Every day all teams will be allowed to allocate one full vote to a member’s post - ideally in rotation.

In total no more than 10% of the account’s voting power should be used on team members each week.

Additionally each week one member should post a report for the team in the Steem POD community with a list of their top 7 posts, with a brief note of why each post was chosen.

These posts should set beneficiaries to share the rewards with other members of the team.

The posts will be voted by @steemcurator01.

Thank you to this month’s Community Curators. You are all welcome to apply again for November.

The new Curation Teams will be announced by the end of the month, with a view to starting at the beginning of November.

We would like to remind everyone that they should not contact the Community Curators asking for votes, or to be selected as a Post of the Week. Anyone found doing this may be barred from receiving any @steemcurator0x or @booming votes.

The Steemit Team

PLEASE NOTE…

We request that Community Curators, both current and future, do not vote on homework posts for the Teaching Teams.

These are well covered by steemcurator01/02 and so we would like Community Curators to use all their voting power on other non-Teaching Team posts, both in communities and beyond.

Thank you.

This is a much needed clarification of the rules. So more people will be able to receive support, including bloggers who do not participate in contests.

Are there? How about Europeans? Will they receive upvotes from SC if they are not European? I notice a certain trend that seem not to be broken, same if it comes to upvoting for good comments.

Have you noticed that there is any discrimination based on the geography of origin of the author? I don't think so, it's just that most of the votes go to those authors who participate in the Steemit Engagement Challenge, since it's a contest run by the Steemit team.

greetings my dear friend can we make A team for curator application?

I just finished doing Power Down, so I won't be applying for a curator.

"Kurator komunitas tidak dibenarkan memberikan suara pada postingan pekerjaan rumah Tim pengajar"

Saya pikir peluang mendapatkan suara steemcurator akan lebih merata. Sangat baik untuk pertumbuhan steem.

Do you have a team sir?

Do you want to part of my team?

Okay I would love to drop your contact

@drhira I have been waiting for your reply on discord

Duly noted. We'll avoid rewarding these posts moving forward. Thank you for making this 100% clear.

I am 100% agreed, the curators team focus on diary posts, photography, contests, inside or out side communities.

hello my dear friend, can we make a team?

This dynamic approach to recruit new community curators is more than unique and valuable. It gives opportunity to other steemians rather than previous and every new member brings quality in the work with dedication. The community curators play a vital role in the formation of the appreciative ecosystem to support the undervalued content. I am ready to join this month's community curators program.

For November's curator team, the new format and direction the Steemit team has provided is very inspiring. Valuing and encouraging the posts and comments of writers from different countries is undoubtedly a great step. This curation process will help bring out many neglected and talented writers in the community. In particular, rewarding high-quality comments will enrich the Steem blogging ecosystem. I'm grateful for such an opportunity and excited about Steemit future development. Good luck to all.

First of all, I want to thank the
Steemit team for giving us the
opportunity to create the Curator
Team in November and we want to
see new faces in it. I constantly see
people being ignored even though
they have talent but due to lack of
support or low reputation they are
ignored even though they have full
potential if they get a little support. If
done, the same rising new faces can
come before us. It is my effort that
whenever I am selected by the
Steemit team, I will first support those
people who are constantly being
overlooked and bring such talent to
the fore. will bring the never seen
before and will always try my best to
perform well and live up to the
steemit team's expectations. Give it a
chance

We request that Community Curators, both current and future, do not vote on homework posts for the Teaching Teams.

Thank you so much for the update. We will be careful in remaining weeks & to support other bloggers more.
