RE: Daily Steem Price Update 21/8/2025

Yea, pretty much.

Here if i do youtube it would be "providing a service" so id need a full license and VAT, which here means paying up front.

Putting up some indie game on itch that sells 100 copies if you're lucky at $5, same thing, and up front means afaik anywhere from €10k to €25k and up, they have something called artist license but thats a honeypot for pukkers whove been making money for years and want to legalize it (because its illegal ofcourse otherwise), not something you can do (for instance if you do minor stuff like indiegames for beermoney)

Unless you're the proverbial mayors cousin or you got your small biz from mum & dad the chance of failure within a few years is quite high so the only option left it slavewage and ofcourse despite what the statistics say, automation , just like in any other place in the world outside salems lot has taken its toll. I think most factories or production at all has long left the country barring some of the stuff providing supermarkets like industrial bakeries for those buns that are fresh in the morning but if you dont eat them by noon its already showing that this aint made in a bakery.

And i dont know what is going on atm since i have no reason to follow up anymore but im sure the social rift they're creating is going back to the times Cyriel Buysse wrote about

het verhael der arreme menschen lol

and the best part : my calculator claims the numbers will never work but im sure they got a more expensive one where 1+1 = 20

I'm secure in food & roof and i think my health insurance is covered (though not by the state as it will be for many pro aid-getters) for the foreseeable future but im literally gonna be without a cent to spend on anything

also for the foreseeable future so

i'm glad i bought those retro machines before that

refurbished they'll probably outlast whatever pc i still have left and

i wouldnt really know what to do otherwise between cleaning house and lying programming on a 30/30 minute base between two sleep cycles.

Its a deadlock

in effect not much changes, xept the butcher wont be making money on filet americain from me anymore, i just hope my mister fpga doesnt break.

that would suck

Sort:

I wonder if in others places you don't have to pay taxes on youtube earnings, but honestly "providing a service" is such a lame excuse for them to come round stealing everybodies money.

Yes these days even those who were up the ladder a little more are feeling the pinch and eventually those higher will slowly also sink and the poor peoples story will be their new reality.

It's good we have our entertainment and hobbies sorted a shame the rest of the world continues chasing the next shiny thing when basically we can already enjoy what we have, the older stuff works and lasts longer anyway.
Since the computers I owned back in the 90s these latest ones don't last long at all, or seem to come pre-packed with issues.
