Speech is silver Silence is gold
..... Everyone wants their voice to be heard..
We talk to make our point. To prove that we are right or innocent. We talk to prove we are not guilty. We talk all the time. Speech is a big part of human existence because it is a vital way to communicate or pass some message across to the hearer. However, there are times when silence is preferred to speech. There could be situations when it is better not to talk. Sometimes, we can actually make more sense by not talking. Little wonder then that an ancient proverb said that there is a time to talk and a time to keep quiet. Several situations can call for silence. Consider the following
..Silence is gold
1. When you don't actually have to prove a point: Different situations exist when you are unfairly criticized. People say all sorts of bads things against you. They might do this to gain some advantage or just to make you feel bad. Most times, the criticism is baseless and unfair. You could prove a point by answering your critics - perhaps directly. Nut then, you could provide the best answer by keeping quiet and continuing your good work. For sure, actions do speak louder than words. So when you do the right thing and make sure you are not giving anybody room to talk bad about what you do, the people can have their say. At such a situation, the person whose opinion matters most is you. So you can keep silent and let your actions do the talking.
2. When you have someone that needs a listening ear: Yes, emotions may be running high and the situation charged up. It could be someone passing through a very difficult period in life and needs someone to talk to. Most times, it is preferable to just listen attentively and not talk. When some is going through a really confusing situation such as the death of a loved one or the loss of a job, we can can just listen patiently as they express themselves. Interupting them to tell them sorry or offer other words of advice do not always help. People that are under pressure are more comforted by someone who listens patiently to their words. It shows that someone wants to understand their situation. So in such case, its better to listenly silently and patiently, before knowing what course of atcion to take.
....When is it better to talk or keep silent?

Hello dear @focusnow, very good article friend.
There is an old proverb that says "every man be late to speak and soon to hear" ... You are definitely right in what you say, we help people more knowing how to listen to what they want to externalize than giving a lot of advice that many times are useless because we have not heard them, if we do not listen to people it will be very difficult to understand the moment they live, for these reasons silence, in this sense it is worth gold.
Thanks friend.
@fucho80
I know some people, who simply cannot be silent. But I think in some moments, the silence is much better, but what to tell those people? :-)
Greetings @focusnow, very certain and inspiring your post, comes here thanks to a recommendation of a group.
What you say is totally true, I guess many of us open up through these situations at some point in our lives, because life is like that as the market of crypto coins we are a season in high and others in lows.
As for the experiences that you ask for, in general lines I can say as my grandmother says "a silence is worth a thousand words", which I think could go hand in hand with the point two that you raise.
And as for the first one, I admit that I had something in mind (a phrase or quotation that I read once) but that I left right now at the time of writing 😅... if I remember it later I comment it 👍
With nothing more to say thank you for reading my comment, I'm not leaving without wishing you a good day, evening or night.✌️
Among my people there is an old phrase that says "if your words are no better than silence, do not speak" that when we combine it with another that said "facts are love" (refers to the fact that when we want someone we show it improvement by doing things that speaking), we have in the end a general advice that can be summed up in: That your actions speak so clearly that others understand you even when you keep silent.

@focusnow, In my opinion before Language, Body Language existed and definitely silent expressions can express more heavier and louder than words sometimes. Stay blessed.

I don't think we should talk when we're in emotional shock. Our words must be supported by reason.
meaningful silence is better than meaningless words.
Its best to be silent and listen more in order for one to understand and when one understand what is being said one can respond by a spoken word
