RE: Coin Shop Currency - HAWAII - SILVER CERTIFICATE - ONE DOLLAR - 20180701
That's for the history lesson and photos. The good ole' days when a Federal Reserve Note was at least worth a dollar of silver...........What is it worth today, about $0.03. Not a fair exchange, but in your case, it is worth a half an ounce of silver.
The greater beauty is that this is NOT a Federal Reserve Note. It is a SILVER CERTIFICATE. There have been lots of different types: US Note, National Currency, Silver Certificate and the Federal Reserve Note. It is the Federal Reserve Notes from the Federal Reserve Bank that we pay interest upon.
