SLC-S29/W6-“Thinking and Ideas!| One Idea Worth Spreading!”

Hello friends, I hope you are all well. For the last week of the Steemit Challenge contest, I will be sharing my One Idea Worth Spreading. I would like to thank the organizers of this challenge, and without further delay, I am starting my participation.

Share one idea you believe could improve lives

I have a small idea that I feel will improve people's lives, and that is to create an Empathy Group. In this group, people will share their stories of failure, sad, and the innermost thoughts of their minds without any kind of judgment. Within this group, no one will give advice or judge anyone; instead, everyone will simply listen with full attention. This group can be formed with people around us, family members, or friends, where everyone sits together once a week or a month just to listen to the words of each other's hearts.

Why is this idea important now?

In this current era of growth, we have entered such a competition that we only value successful people in society. Because everyone is connected through social media, we only get to see the successes of others, which is increasing loneliness and despair among people. We have no time for one another; everyone is busy with themselves.

We have lost the patience to listen to each other's problems. There are many people who do not want a solution to their problems—they could solve them if they wanted to—but they don't find anyone by their side who will just listen to their struggles. Therefore, if such an empathy group exists, the sense of brotherhood toward one another will increase.

Who do you feel needs to hear this idea the most?

I believe that from students to corporate professionals, and even elderly people who have no one by their side in their later years, everyone should be heard. Actually, while fighting with the world to survive, people fall under immense mental pressure. Currently, students may feel the pressure of their studies, and there are many students who are afraid to make the right decisions in life.

Many corporate professionals may seem fit from the outside, but within their corporate lives, there are many types of struggles that they cannot share with anyone, leading them to suffer from depression. There are many elderly people who have no one to stay by their side or listen to their stories in their final years; they feel lonely. For them, this empathy group is a must.

What is the first small step someone could take to begin?

The first step of this can be started very easily. If desired, 3-4 close friends can start by sitting together in a suitable place. At the beginning, they should say:- Today, none of us will judge each other; we will only listen to each other's words or problems with full attention.

Actually, we can easily solve our biggest problems when we realize that someone is by our side—that there is a human being to listen to us. Not everyone wants to hear only about success; there are many who want to hear about failures, too. And I believe that if we can start this way, it will bring improvement to people's lives.

I just read a comment somewhere and thought of calling out the person for making a harsh comment on another person's post.

Minutes later, I scroll past and find your post on thinking and ideas. And the focus is on empathy.

I agree with you on this.

We need more people who listen and less people who judge. As a matter of fact, we need people who also consider the feelings of others before spewing out hurtful words and harmful biases.

In a world filled with bitterness and hate for different people and various reasons, it's almost common to watch people propagate harmful opinions just to spite a particular demographic group they "dislike".

Now, the mere act of saying those hurtful words show a lack of empathy.

Yes, we need an empathy group where "people will share their stories of failure, sad, and the innermost thoughts of their minds without any kind of judgment." But within that group, we need people who embrace others equally and try to treat them the way they'd love to be treated without being clouded by bias and hate.

Thank you for the support.
Wishing you a blissful week ahead! 🤍

Hi @ripon0630, welcome to thinking and ideas week 6

My Observations:

Your idea is a good one and can improve a lot of people's live. Sometimes most people do not know or have who to talk to, but with this platform, a lot of people get to be saved.
