Koh Kret, a famous tourist destination in Nonthaburi province, Thailand
Referring to my several old posts about Koh Kret, you may learn that Koh Kret is well-known as a popular and famous destination for tourists from all over the world for its historic Mon community, historically significant temples and renowned for its pottery, a signature product, etc.
Koh Kret is so charming with a lush green area along the Chao Phraya River that invites tourists to stroll, relax, eat a variety of delicious foods and shop the unique local products in the community market on their days off. Alternatively, they can take a boat ride to enjoy the island's scenic beauty.
There are many big trees in the ancient Mon temple, Wat Poramaiyikawas which is deemed as the remarkable temple of Koh Kret people, as well as benches for sitting to witness beautiful scenery of the island.
You will surely enjoy feeding many big fish in the river, as I did.
You can admire a magnificent golden Buddha statue which is very huge in the temple on the opposite side of Koh Kret.
There is a beautiful monument of King Rama V, our beloved ancient King, for people to pay homage to.
There are no cars on Koh Kret, you can ride a rented bicycle or walk around the island which has a distance of approximately 6 kilometers.
This really greatly reduces pollution. The air is fresh and you can breathe deeply.
It’s unfortunate that the day I visited there was a flood in most areas of Koh Kret, so I think I should visit Koh Kret again for more exploration.
As you can see, Koh Kret is a famous tourist destination because of the charm of the unique way of life of Mon people.
And one thing you will definitely take home after visiting Koh Kret is the smiles and friendliness of the locals, who warmly welcome you with a friendly demeanor.
I'm quite sure if you visit Koh Kret, you will return for a second or third visit.
