Thalay Noi, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Thailand
Thalay Noi is situated in my hometown, Phatthalung, in the South of Thailand. It’s well-known as one of the largest freshwater lakes in Thailand.
Thalay or Thale means sea or in this case means lake
Noi mean small or little
Thalay Noi is also considered as the biggest waterbird reserve of Thailand since there are a variety of waterbirds to explore; i.e. small ducks, great egrets, stork, etc.
Besides, there are many gorgeous lotus floating on the water.
To admire these things closely, you have to travel with a long-tailed boat which is one of the popular transports of the Thai people.
These long-tailed boats have unique style and you will get good experience sitting in the boats.
The scenery of Thalay Noi is spectacular.
You can stay overnight comfortably and closely to the lake....
P.s. I have presented photos of Thalay Noi in my old articles. These photos in this post are from a recent trip.
it seems like a very naturalistic place. It would be nice to take a boat ride there but what type of flora and fauna is there?
Many thanks for stopping by and for your nice comment. I'm glad you found the place interesting. There are plenty of gorgeous pink lotus there and you have to take a long-tailed boat to see them...
