Wat Thep Phithak Punnaram, a fascinating temple, in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand - Part I
Driving from Bangkok heading to the northeast of Thailand on Mittraphap Road, you will see a large Buddha statue standing out majestically among the big mountains.
This is located in Wat Thep Phithak Punnaram which is a fascinating temple in Nakhon Ratchasima. Local people call this temple Wat Phra Khao.
Wat means temple
Phra means monk or Buddha statue
Khao means white
It is called Wat Phra Khao because this temple has a big white Buddha statue enshrined there. It can be clearly seen from the temple entrance road leading to the big mountain.
It is a very beautiful picture.
If you enter inside the temple, you will be surrounded by various large trees that are shady and you can feel the coolness and freshness from the trees.
The atmosphere is peaceful which is completely different from the sunny and noisy streets outside.
In front of the stairs which are the way up the mountain, there is the same white Buddha statue, but in smaller size.
This is for people who cannot climb up to the mountain, so they can pay homage and ask for good fortune from this small Buddha statue instead.
In the meantime, there are other awesome statues in the temple that you will surely enjoy taking photos, like me…
P.s. More photos in my next post.
Interesting to see the Buddha statue on the side of the mountains. Beautiful.
I'm happy that you found this interesting. Many thanks!
