Seems like they're funded by SNK, but will be acting as an independant studio. So they basically get to just focus on making video games.You could already tell from some of his Twitter posts, but it only adds more credence to the theory that he got tired of all of the big corporation nonsense that's happening at Bamco, while still having to go out and take responsibility for everything that happens there.
Also taking into account that they managed to scare ArcSys away from DBFZ, Bamco just don't seem to be any good to work with. It's a shame that they own the IPs that they do, there are developers that would do much better things with Tekken and Soulcalibur.

If you don't know who Harada is, you might as well not know Miyazaki or never heard of blamco and the likes i suppose
I dont think Harada-san has a failed project to his name yet (although that doesn't mean they dont exist), i certainly never heard of one.
Personally we (and "the boys") in former lives always played tekken, since tekken 1 and afterward also i got an xbox for 2 games : dark souls (in the first place because at first you couldnt get it on pc) and : TEKKEN
then since tekken 5 i been playing alone and some online for the achievements, i got tekken x streetfighter on steam too, and Tekken 8 is one of the last games i bought before they put me completely out of income
...
SO that means SNK is taking this absolutely seriously and has a very good chance of
dominating
the retro market soon enough .. which means it will be a market again and in that we can only prey they take a gabe newell attitude towards it

money ... saw this kickstarter project , a guy with 1200 backers for a retro game, nearly 130000 dollars pledged ... then in the comments section everyone asking their money back as the last post was like more than a year ago
and i thought, woaw, thats over 20+ years of money compared to the last i had (not compared to before that i guess)
so .. someone needs to explain to me : i know how you pull a steem monsters : you find homer simpsons and then go on kickstarter and spend your witness money via proxies to sell out in 48 hours, every sucker buying in after it is a bonus
but how do you get 1200 backers for a screenshot .. and on kickstarter that means you get the money , newer sites would require you to have at least something to show
