Ulog 008: Missing American burger

Time flies fast. Yesterday marked the fourth year after my trip to the US. As I went around, I had a stop at a nearby coffee shop and tried the "Cheesy Burger" for the first time.

For the very first bite, the taste of American burger came back, and suddenly, I remembered myself enjoying a burger at In-and-Out, one of the famous fast food chains in the States.

I still remembered that I had made a promise to my cousin and nephew of revisiting them after two years, but I couldn't keep it. Work, study and many things else happened, and I'm here, thinking about another trip to the US again in the coming years.

About the taste, it was quite an underlying taste of the burger, beef, and cheese, simple yet tasty. Here in Vietnam, you can go to many burger places, but I still prefer the tradition favor of simple burger that consists of only beef and cheese.

After that short memory hitting back, I went to my relative house and enjoyed dinner. I had finished two crucial tasks of the upcoming project and more to come later.

I used to think that all burgers tasted the same and couldn’t understand why some were more expensive than others. But as my taste buds become more refined, I am starting to notice the difference. What’s your favorite? Only-N-Out burgers are based out California so I don’t get to eat it. Here on the east coast, there is Shack Shack.

At first, I thought the same. In Vietnam, people often consider burgers as luxury meals, while in the US, they are just fast-food.

During my three weeks in the US four years ago, I had tried several places, from Climb Hanger, In-N-Out and McDonalds. Even though they have different tastes, I still prefer the most basic, most original one, which is from In-N-Out. In Vietnam, we have many variations, such as adding a layer of Rice or more layers of meat. For me, just a simple slice of beef is enough.
