Ampalaya or Bitter Gourd is one of those vegetables packed with nutrients and dietary fibres that is beneficial to our health. And this Sautéed Bitter Gourd that we are going to make today is so easy to prepare.
Not all would eat Ampalaya for its bitter taste why they call it a bitter gourd. Personally, I don't eat it before. I just hate the taste. But one time my office mate made her own ampalaya and I fell in love with it.
The secret lies to its preparation. With the help of my @steemph friends in Discord @romeskie & @twotripleow who told me that the bitter gourd must soak first to water with salt then Squeeze its juice to eliminate its bitter taste. But you also squeezing that vitamin over there, remember!
INGREDIENTS
2 bitter gourd, thinly slice
2 tomatoes
3 eggs
onion
garlic
salt and pepper
You can also put pork if you want. Make your dish up to your appetite. I like it with more egg.
INSTRUCTION
Place the bitter gourd in a large bowl with salt and water. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
Squeeze it tight with your hand or a cloth till the juice drips.
Then start heating the pan and pour some oil.
Sauté garlic, onion and tomato.
Then the pork if you wanted to.
Put the bitter gourd and mix it well with the rest of the ingredients.
