The Tale of the Two Wolves

In a small village nestled between two mountains, there lived an old wise man known for his profound insights. One day, a young boy approached him, troubled and confused.

“I feel torn inside,” the boy said. “I have two sides to me: one that is kind and loving, and another that is angry and resentful. I don’t know which one to follow.”

The old man smiled gently and replied, “Inside every person, there are two wolves fighting for control. One wolf represents kindness, compassion, and love, while the other embodies anger, hatred, and fear. These two wolves are in a constant battle.”

The boy pondered this for a moment and asked, “Which wolf will win?”

The wise man looked the boy in the eyes and said, “The one you feed.”

The Lesson

This tale illustrates the importance of balance in our lives. It is easy to let our negative emotions consume us, but it is equally essential to nurture our positive traits.

  • Feed the Positive: Engage in acts of kindness, practice gratitude, and cultivate love and compassion.
  • Acknowledge the Negative: Recognize your anger and fears, but do not let them control you. Instead, find healthy outlets for these emotions.

A Word of Caution

In our pursuit of balance, we must remember that neglecting one side can lead to chaos. Overindulging in positivity can lead to unrealistic expectations, while dwelling too much on negativity can cloud our judgment.

Strive for Harmony

Balance is not about denying one side or the other but about understanding and integrating both. By feeding the right wolf and acknowledging the other, we can achieve harmony within ourselves and navigate life’s challenges with wisdom and grace.

Remember: The choice is yours. Feed wisely.
