A Complex Concept: Wait for the Wind!
Some things seem so simple that they're incredibly difficult to understand, because, because of their simplicity, or because of their simplicity, no one bothered to ask why they were so.
For those puzzled by the question of which came first, the chicken or the egg, there's the equally intriguing question of which came first, the wind or the dandelion. The goal of the dandelion is to grow, bloom, create a bunch of white parachutes on its head, and wait for a gust of wind to carry the dandelion seeds to new lands, just as the hurricane in the Oz fairy tale carried away Doratie's house.
It seems that in this respect, sailing ships are similar to dandelions, which also supposedly wait for a gust of wind. However, ships wait for nothing, and the wind will sooner or later destroy their structures, whereas the dandelion benefits only from it.
Farmers also expect winds, but for them, the wind is an enemy that can open up crops and carry away the long-awaited snow that should cover winter crops like a carpet. They, in their aspirations, are clearly the antipodes of ships and dandelions, but they also wait for the wind :)
