The path of heroes not celebrated in song.

There was a time when heroic deeds were celebrated in songs, but these songs were usually about people.

As a rule, a heroic deed is the result of circumstances that lead to self-sacrifice.

Sometimes heroic deeds are deliberate, and sometimes they are accidental.

No one is born a hero; they become one, so they say, but in reality, this is not always the case.

Sometimes a hero's path is written at birth, hmm, at the moment of entry into this world.

Plants we see in flowerbeds—marigolds, for example—are considered heroes from birth.

Well, one might assume that heroism is due to the fact that marigolds can provide us with a cheap substitute for the very expensive spice saffron. That's partly true, but no!

It's believed that where marigolds grow, other plants, particularly garden ones, don't suffer from infestations of microscopic nematodes, which can ruin vegetable crops.

Simply put, you might think that marigolds repel nematodes if planted between rows in a garden, but no, they attract them, like heroes, attacking their root system.

The nematodes rush headlong to the marigolds, forgetting about your onions and potatoes, and cling to the marigolds' root system without a chance to escape.

But, heroes, they're often not only brave but also smart, marigolds are like that.

If you decide to uproot your marigolds, millions of nematodes will be released and attack your garden.

Marigolds are a hero with very reliable insurance, lol.
