Day 4 and 5 of EBC

in #trek22 days ago

Yesterday, I absolutely had no network after reaching my hotel in the evening. Today, after completing our trek for the day, when I came to the hotel, it was the same story, so I bought the Internet connection of 24 hrs. I wanted to connect with my family as they were also worried about me.

Both days have been very exhausting. I keep moving ahead, and it just does not seem to get over. Specially yesterday, again we had a 3 hr climb, which at my pace took me 3.5 hrs. Today, there were climbs, and they were gradual, but yesterday's exhaustion was too much, so today, I also felt heavy. Today, there was a lot of straight walk as well.

Finally, I have reached an elevation level of 4410 meters/ 14470 feet. It is such an incredible achievement for me. There were a lot of challenges on the way, but after completing it, the pride that I feel is way bigger than those challenges.

As I keep moving up, not only the oxygen but everything gets scarce. A bottle of water at my current location Dingboche costs 4 $, and a bucket of hot water for a bath costs me 6$, and the Internet is also 6$.
There is a toilet in the room with a flush, ofcourse for which I paid a premium price but besides that there's no water connection, so morning for brushing my teeth I have to go to the common bathroom. Today in my room, I have no plug point to charge my phone. I have carried a power bank, which I will have to start using going forward. It will charge my phone 4 times, so hopefully, it should be enough for the rest of the trek.

Life comes to the bare minimum in this place. And that's the whole deal of this trek. It's just not about the climb but so many other things.

Yesterday, day 4, I trekked from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche, where the starting elevation was 11,290 ft / 3,440 meters and the ending elevation waa 12,687 ft / 3,867 meters. They say the trek time is 4 hrs, but honestly, it took me 7 hrs, and almost everyone in the line took that much time. May be if you run then you can do it in 4 hrs.

Today, I trekked from Tengboche to Dingboche, where the starting elevation is 12,697 ft / 3,870 meters, and the ending elevation is 14,469 ft / 4,410 meters. Again here they say the trek time is 3.30 hrs but I took 6.30.

Yes, on both days, it includes lunchtime, which would be maxfor 45 minutes.

I am sharing some pictures from both days

Wow. Great photos. Now that is a beautiful hiking trail. Incredible views up there. So great to follow you here on Steemit.

Thank you for your support

As I kept moving up, I was finding it difficult, I would feel like I had weights tied up to my legs, slowly gradually I managed to move up
