Making decisions to select a product

It is always safe and better to make decisions based on data and research. But to think of it, is every data accurate, can every data be relied upon. Data analysis can by itself be flawed then what. Specially in the medical field. We keep hearing this that data has proven it, but how reliable is the data is the big question. I think the source of the data is more important than the data itself. If the source is genuine then the data reliability is better. Data can be represented in a manner to misguide also. We have seen this in Covid times, how data has been manipulated by the big institutions like the WHO and health institutions across the world.

In today's time everything is funded to prove that it's reliable and so is the data, so just relying on the data may not be the right approach. And personally, any data coming from very big institutes I always have my doubts, but then in such cases how do we make decisions if a product is good for use or not.

There are promotions for so many products in the market that are data driven and they claim about it's effectiveness, but when you bring that product home, it may not work on you and there will always be disclaimers, so you put yourself in that 1% to 5% bracket where there is a disclaimer of the product not working. And actually you do not even know how many such people will be there on who that product has no effectiveness.

It's difficult to judge in today's time what is real and what is not. I prefer to go with sources and personally my experience is that smaller the source the more genuine the product and also if the source is reachable then it's better to get from them, rather than buying products of the company where you have no reach and every product is a trial for you.

At the same time data cannot even be neglected, after all big companies make all their decisions are data driven and they cannot operate without data.
