Daybook January 2

Being published does not make information correct. Nurses must ask questions and demand evidence as part of their professional responsibility.

In nursing, we are surrounded by information.
Studies, guidelines, protocols, and editorials are everywhere.

Because something is printed or widely cited,
we often assume it must be correct.

But professional responsibility asks more of us.

As nurses, we make decisions that affect real people.
That means we cannot stop at “It says so here.”

Asking questions is not being difficult.
Asking for evidence is not being disrespectful.

It is how professionals protect patients—and themselves.

One Line for Nurses and Student Nurses Today:
Professional silence is not safety—questions are.
