Honest Feedback Without Breaking the Spirit
Daybook March 06
This reflection examines ethical feedback, identity vulnerability, and the tension between honesty and care in nursing education.
Teaching is heavy work.
As semesters progress, fatigue increases.
Feedback becomes necessary and frequent.
But there is a fine line between correction and harm.
Students do not fear honesty.
They fear humiliation.
Constructive feedback strengthens identity.
Destructive criticism weakens it.
One Line for Nurses and Learners:
Feedback should guide growth, not guard power.
