How I lost 8 pounds in 2 months

in #diet7 years ago (edited)

We all know that feeling when you step on the scale and suddenly you see that you have shot up and is now 10 pounds heavier. It happened to be in the month of March. I suddenly found myself 8 pounds heavier and thought I had to do something about it. Now, I'm just 5'3 and my weight was 61 kgs.

First, I studied my diet. I realized that I was eating more in the past few months. Eating more for breakfast, more for lunch and dinner and snacking too. I knew that had to change.

Secondly, I knew that I wasn't working out anymore and my physical activities were on all time low. I had to get moving.

Now to recovery and to getting fit and healthy. This is what I did.

  1. Download MyFitnessPal. I have no idea about what other reviews say about the app but I got it as it was free. I started to log my weight, log what I eat and actually started counting calories for the first time in my life.

  2. Now for meals, this is what I ate. (1200 calories per day)
Breakfast - oats with skimmed milk and papaya shake ( made it with skimmed milk and water and no sugar ) some days I would have oats with tea (no sugar)
For lunch I would have the papaya shake again.
Then Tea time would be light snacks with tea.
For dinner, a little bit of rice, vegetables and two small pieces of any meat.
After dinner, I would drink a cup of green tea.

  3. Workout. I tried to burn at least 150 calories everyday. So that meant approximately 30-40 minutes everyday at the gym. Some days I would do the cross trainer and threadmill and other days cardio. I would also do 3-4 sets of the 7 minutes exercises on days that I didn't feel like using any equipments.

  4. The end result was that in 2 months time I had lost 8 pounds . I now feel more fit and healthier than ever. I still work out 2-3 times a week and eat healthy. I have stopped counting calories but I still weight myself every week.

I hope this articles helps everyone who is trying to lose weight. Be determined and just work towards your goal. I would also like to add that I didn't actually deny myself any food item, I just lowered the portion. So if I want to eat chips, I would eat just a handful of it everyday. So, that meant just 5-6 chips a day but at least that was controlling my cravings. And yes I would cheat once in a while and go out and dine. IMG_0827.PNG
