New Diet: transition to it, or dive right in? (Comments = High Upvote)
Vegan
I had a random intuition one day, and since then I have consciously eaten no animal products.
I say “consciously” because when you first change your diet, you also learn about all of these sneaky additions companies put into their products. For example, when you want to stay away from milk, you’ll learn that some fast food companies put milk IN THEIR FRENCH FRIES. Seriously...
Or when you are staying away from man-made sugar: you then realize that nearly every product with a barcode has sugar in it.
Fruitarian
I jumped into fruits (the only “transition” was from dealing with unbearable withdrawal symptoms) ... and from seeing other people that jump into 100% fruits, the only problem I saw was ignorant people making assumptions (“I know how to listen to my body!”) that resulted in their decision to stop eating just fruit.
What bad have you seen with not transitioning to a new diet?
Thank you! :)
It is my wish to serve you with these words!
Some info about me: I've been involved with Bitcoin since 2010. By trade I am an expert on blockchain technology. I am the Project Director for Wall of Coins, and CEO for Genitrust, Inc. I eat primarily fruits and leafy greens ("fruitarian"). This is known as a frugivorous diet, which is the diet by design of the human species and most primates. I don't cook my fruits, so you may also call this "raw vegan". I have eaten virtually every food item and major cultural style on this planet. I have experienced long periods of many different diet regimens: acid/alkaline, ketogenic, vegan, etc. In my spare time as a child, and an adult, I truly relished reading articles, books, and research papers on nutritional observation. I also enjoy and frequently practice long periods of juice fasting, water fasting, and dry fasting.
Thank you for reading, upvoting, tipping, and re-steeming!

I always claim that the younger a person is when they are able to stand up for something with their life and go vegan, the smarter that person is. Everyone is on their own journey. I got into raw foods when I was about 23, but I didn't consciously go vegan or even know what veganism was until I was 25. So I'm not that smart, just kidding, but some of these young children consciously deciding they don't need other animals to die for them to thrive always impresses me.
Omg... are you fruit daddy from YouTube? :D
Yeah buddy, I am. I have a lot of new unique content ready for uploading on Dtube. I'm also thinking of starting a vegan steemit slack or telegram group to pump/support each other on here.
@robertgenito I'm really going hard for the vegan takeover on on Steemit. I would love your support.
Heck ya man. I’ve been at it for almost a year... @teamsteem for longer! I’m a big fan of you pushing the truth about monkeys forced to gather coconuts. Thanks for taking that MAJOR risk to let people know!
I think either method can work, just depends on individual circumstances. Transitioning may be easier for someone completely new to anything other than a standard diet. Often times if you have been eating junk for a long time than put true food in your system it will shock the body, bringing some weird symptoms. It's like putting rocket fuel into a rusty car.
For me cravings for cooked food has been a challenge when in a cold environment and don't have access to high quality fruits. It's sometimes a matter of convenience for caloric intake to eat cooked starches or vegetables, though if I do that I only do it for one meal; the majority of what is consume is fruits and leafy greens.
True food is a bit strange label. Because our body could process most things and use it for fuel. If you are going to war clearly eat meat would be better than fruits if you want to be a strong warrior. So in that way true food is a flawed word. All depends on what you are planning to do!
True food for humans....eating meat for war is typical primitive mammalian behavior. Yes, we can eat a lot of things but it doesn't mean we are truly designed for them, just like any system in which you put in the wrong inputs; it might create some reaction, but it wont work at a functional level like warfare from eating meat, thats just caring about survival. Humans are a distinct species, as far as we know, to develop abilities that transcends and is goes beyond mere short term self-preservation.
Of course you are right. But it's not like we are there into the ideal world. Just as we now see with the western world how savages are taking over. Have we done any real progress or are we just changing the males? Dominance and power is interesting questions clearly! The male role is still protect and can he do that with just eating bananas and apples or will a stronger male takover? What I see happening is how we will split the world into thousands of mini tribes again with their own little sect. That seems to be where the world is going.
I see this happening as well. Sort of a return to the Middle Ages, with State power will still present, but I'm not sure it will have the same scope and greatness as it has had. This process could be generational as well, with interesting things occuring in the meantime.
I say this truly: animal meat is not a food, and you will find that people (to our surprise because of all of the marketing information about animal flesh) do not liquefy meat to blood assimilation.
Animal blood and milk is another story...definitely not as abundant and hydrating as fruit water / “blood”. And milks are just too constipating / clogging of the blood. Darn!
I’m not saying they’re completely useless; they are far inferior (especially raw animal milk) for the human vehicle.
If we will become aliens then I'm very sure you are right. The comparsion with a human being a car is cool but cars doesn't have pleasure sensations. If you ask a tiger then animal meat is food. So it can be food for humans as well. Are we just on earth to maximize seconds we live by drinking water? That's one way of looking at it. Another is to be here and enjoy life and experience all kinds of sensations and not just the same constantly. Clearly this is different for all humans what you find enjoyable. Many humans have thrived on all kinds of diets so no easy paths here. I wish there was an easy path but that would also make life boring. The world is too complex for that and humans have thrived on all diets.
There’s truth to that :D
Thank you for the comment, and good points! I have a hunch that these constipating and clogging / plaquing Foods (the starches) are desirable during the cold simply because the friction due to their clogging nature causes enough heat in our body for us to feel less cold at the core—and this gives a feeling of release just to be slightly warmer in the cold climates!
What helps me in the cold is spiced fruits :D and lots of salads seem to help, too. Winter is like the time of salads for me. At my stage, I am having darker greens then, or whatever else is in season here during the cold, such as strawberries, peaches, citrus fruit... more avocados...
Yeah salads help...Humans only started to cook their food once they left their optimal environment(the non-seasonal tropics) where fruit wasn't abundant and as they went further north meat was one of the only options. Cooking food has made humans into world travelers, but it's not really necessary especially nowadays with globalized trade.
Good topic!
I would say that changing to a vegan diet can be done without a transition period. There are all kinds of mock meat products and vegan dairy products so people can recreate their favorite recipies and stay vegan.
I think when people run into problems it is when they change their diet to a more healthy diet and also lower their calories to lose weight. When changing to a cleaner diet there will normally be some detox symptoms, and if you also eat at a caloric deficit those cleansing reactions come in addition and can be too overwhelming. So in my experience changing to a cleaner diet is easy, and one should wait until the body has adapted to it before tweaking it further or before going on a caloric deficit to cleanse further:D
Indeed! When you lose weight, one of the main ways of elimination of the materials (previously buffered by your own fats) is through the blood / kidneys, and this makes a painful experience, and even sometimes a happily manic experience lol :D
So true! I have also come to the point now that whenever I go on a cleanse I get crazy energy and get a lot done. Years ago when I started cleaning up my diet it was the opposite, I stayed in bed with flu-like symptoms feeling sorry for myself. Now it's like you said, a manic experience:D
Cheers!
Who would have thought that all of these drug foods were suppressing our detox? :D
Yeah, drug foods is a good way of describing them. For me, the hardest food to give up was cheese which is probably one of the worst foods for health. I have later found out why: cheese contains casein and morphine, two highly addictive substances.
When we digest casein one of the byproducts is casomorphins, a protein fragment that triggers the brain's opioid receptors, scary stuff!
And to add insult to injury the cow also produces morphine that ends up in the milk and therefore in cheese. According to Neal Barnard, the founder of the Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine, "milk actually contains morphine, which can clearly be seen when milk is inspected under a microscope. Morphine is not added to cow’s milk; cows actually produce these opiate-like chemicals on their own."
So cheese should be classified as a narcotic drug! And is also chockfull of puss, saturated fats and concentrated milkproteins. Not your mother , not your milk!
Indeed! And good point: “...should be classified as a narcotic drug.” :)
Yeah, people should have to go to the doctor to get a prescription before making their pizza... :D
I think it's a very complicated question, but I think it boils down to some essential deciding factors like; what is your motivation? people that are sick and are desperate are more likely to jump from an unhealthy diet to a better one. Other things are emotional, social and practical attachments to the foods. I think this are the two biggest deciding factors and then you have environment, support and many other factors.
Very true. Often many of these “healthy” dieters are super sick, and eating the right foods will expose their condition—it becomes easier to see after the inflammation lowers! This scares off the observers who aren’t dieting; however, people who had observed me and were scared are now curious and have followed my example. Makes me so happy, because I can see that it is helping some of my dear friends and family :) <3
I transitioned into vegetarian, then dove right into veganism after watching "Cowspiracy" and learning about the effects on the environment. It was the best decision of my life!
Now, I'm transitioning to raw for health reasons and through the very little bit of warm food I've had, I could immediately tell the difference in my body🤢
When I eat raw foods, I feel amazing! It's the most energized I've ever been and that is with my iron deficiency. What's even better is there no worry of animal products being in fruit😄
