RE: New Diet: transition to it, or dive right in? (Comments = High Upvote)

in #diet7 years ago (edited)

I think either method can work, just depends on individual circumstances. Transitioning may be easier for someone completely new to anything other than a standard diet. Often times if you have been eating junk for a long time than put true food in your system it will shock the body, bringing some weird symptoms. It's like putting rocket fuel into a rusty car.

For me cravings for cooked food has been a challenge when in a cold environment and don't have access to high quality fruits. It's sometimes a matter of convenience for caloric intake to eat cooked starches or vegetables, though if I do that I only do it for one meal; the majority of what is consume is fruits and leafy greens.

Sort:

True food is a bit strange label. Because our body could process most things and use it for fuel. If you are going to war clearly eat meat would be better than fruits if you want to be a strong warrior. So in that way true food is a flawed word. All depends on what you are planning to do!

True food for humans....eating meat for war is typical primitive mammalian behavior. Yes, we can eat a lot of things but it doesn't mean we are truly designed for them, just like any system in which you put in the wrong inputs; it might create some reaction, but it wont work at a functional level like warfare from eating meat, thats just caring about survival. Humans are a distinct species, as far as we know, to develop abilities that transcends and is goes beyond mere short term self-preservation.

Of course you are right. But it's not like we are there into the ideal world. Just as we now see with the western world how savages are taking over. Have we done any real progress or are we just changing the males? Dominance and power is interesting questions clearly! The male role is still protect and can he do that with just eating bananas and apples or will a stronger male takover? What I see happening is how we will split the world into thousands of mini tribes again with their own little sect. That seems to be where the world is going.

I see this happening as well. Sort of a return to the Middle Ages, with State power will still present, but I'm not sure it will have the same scope and greatness as it has had. This process could be generational as well, with interesting things occuring in the meantime.

I say this truly: animal meat is not a food, and you will find that people (to our surprise because of all of the marketing information about animal flesh) do not liquefy meat to blood assimilation.

Animal blood and milk is another story...definitely not as abundant and hydrating as fruit water / “blood”. And milks are just too constipating / clogging of the blood. Darn!

I’m not saying they’re completely useless; they are far inferior (especially raw animal milk) for the human vehicle.

If we will become aliens then I'm very sure you are right. The comparsion with a human being a car is cool but cars doesn't have pleasure sensations. If you ask a tiger then animal meat is food. So it can be food for humans as well. Are we just on earth to maximize seconds we live by drinking water? That's one way of looking at it. Another is to be here and enjoy life and experience all kinds of sensations and not just the same constantly. Clearly this is different for all humans what you find enjoyable. Many humans have thrived on all kinds of diets so no easy paths here. I wish there was an easy path but that would also make life boring. The world is too complex for that and humans have thrived on all diets.

There’s truth to that :D

Thank you for the comment, and good points! I have a hunch that these constipating and clogging / plaquing Foods (the starches) are desirable during the cold simply because the friction due to their clogging nature causes enough heat in our body for us to feel less cold at the core—and this gives a feeling of release just to be slightly warmer in the cold climates!

What helps me in the cold is spiced fruits :D and lots of salads seem to help, too. Winter is like the time of salads for me. At my stage, I am having darker greens then, or whatever else is in season here during the cold, such as strawberries, peaches, citrus fruit... more avocados...

Yeah salads help...Humans only started to cook their food once they left their optimal environment(the non-seasonal tropics) where fruit wasn't abundant and as they went further north meat was one of the only options. Cooking food has made humans into world travelers, but it's not really necessary especially nowadays with globalized trade.
