3,630 Reps From 9 Steemians After 9 Days - Join The Steem Daily 100 Rep Fitness Challenge Of 50 Push-ups & 50 Squats! - Day 10

in #fitnesschallenge6 years ago (edited)

No excuses! I got home after another late night out, and at 5 AM, got my reps done in under 3 minutes! That's 42 seconds off in the last two days by splitting up my sets differently. At this hour and after some drinks, I'm shocked, but can go to bed proud.

To people new, see the intro link below. We'll be opening up to other exercise types in due time. I'm trying to keep this simple for now to get everyone assembled and on the same page.

What's the challenge? 50 push-ups (modified if needed) and 50 air squats. See my video. If you want to do a different ratio or split, that's fine. Just reach 100 reps from these options and reply below with an affirmation, pic, link, or video. We're on the honor system.

If you can't do all of the push-ups, I know you can do squats for the rest. Get involved!

Highlights:

  • @bitfiend from the US has officially entered the building with his first reps. It took him a while to complete them, but that's simply a testament to his grit to get job done when his body was fighting him. Well done!!
  • 2:55 time for me with zero soreness the last 2 days.

My Reps:

After a second night out and a few drinks tonight, my energy wasn't through the roof, but I can't skip out on my own challenge unless it's a baseball night. I got some compliments on my condition tonight which was encouraging since I've been focusing on my effort and intake lately.

My phone memory got full with 3 squats left at 2:48, so I safely finished by 2:55! Hell yea!!

Tonight's fuel was a plate of boneless chicken and some raw honey, and a few beers.

Everyone please support and encourage the team here. They're working hard to build a community the hard way. It's about the bigger picture.

Make sure you go 90 degrees with your elbows and legs, with your back straight, on each rep. Feel free to help others if they look like that can use some advice.

Again, this is just a baseline of activity for the day. This will be far from all I do on most days, and the same can go for you.

Markets and spirits may be down now, but our health should always be on the rise.

We don't always need an app and tokens for everything, or to worry about things we can't control.

Worry about what we can control. Let's put the human back into fitness here and you will see and feel the results.

Rep on,

They're looking easy for you now Matt.

I got mine in today (25th August), just the bare minimum 100 reps after 2hrs sleep and way too much vodka last night. 5x10 of each.

I did 2:03 because my son made me some challenges, I still can't get it why are you
spread out your elbows, give me some clues, please

I was going to ask you for a view from the front like this yesterday and you read my mind. I'm not sure why my elbows are like that. They're closer than when I first started, but I'll try to work on this. I might not work it in tonight, but will do some practice reps. Thanks for the tip.

Try to do on fists. Maybe your wrists causing the problem.

Today I woke up with extremely sore legs, as expected. Regardless, I felt like I needed to get my reps in immediately. I can tell that I am avoiding pushups like the plague. Even with the sore legs, I did the 50 squats in 2 minutes and 40 seconds, 10 at a time with a quick breather. I should be able to do 20 + at a time in a few days

Then I did 20 pushups in 1 min and 40 seconds. Pushups are not easy for me right now so I switched it up and did 20 leg raises and 10 sit ups.

I meant to get some more pushups in, but the day slipped away but at least I did 100 reps. 100 reps was good the first time around, but I learned a thing or two about what I can handle and what I need, so I'd like to go for 150-200 daily reps once I get used to this again.

Can you hammer out 3 more sets of 10 squats now to check the box? DO IT!!!

I couldn't say no lol...done.

CHAMPION LEVEL. Thank you. That's how to tackle the challenge.

We keep pushing it. I did 50 decline push ups and 50 plie squats this morning.

Fancy pants over there with super reps. Well done!

I'm feeling better, the soreness reduced and I'll probably even increase my reps to 150 soon

Cool. I'm at almost 0 soreness. This is a good sign for us. My idea was to get the core crew up to speed (including myself) since we've been on the shelf. After a little more time, we can start dialing it up or changing gears. This is still a good baseline to do though. I'm feeling great results.
