ALIVE is an interesting, dreadful tale of existence that takes on the common zombie theme with the story taking place in an apartment complex. People who watched movies like Train to Busan, Cargo or The Wailing can enjoy this movie as a recommendation.

After "Train To Busan", comes "ALIVE!" A very recent zombie horror film that not only delivers zombies and carnage it also gives us a few nightmaric scenes especially with the fridge scene. This movie may not be as great as TTB and doesnt have much dialogue in the 1st and 2nd act but it doesn't mean it's bad, you should watch this and expect a contained zombie horror movie because most of the time it spends a lot inside the apartments of our characters and how they deal with the situation outside. The thrills and scares are awesome they actually went more than what I would expect and it was great.

The story starts with Oh Joon-woo, a PC gamer who lives with his parents in an apartment complex in Seoul. At first you can see that he got a note from his mother asking him to pick up some groceries while his parents are away. But, he settles in for a day of gaming with his friends.

After a while, he heard some weird things about the citizens from his friends & then he saw a glance at the news that the country is in a state of emergency. A fast-spreading virus is turning the citizens into cannibalistic zombies. He then steps onto his balcony and witnesses the dreadful & bloody chaos. After getting attacked by his zombie neighbour, he barricades & locked himself inside his house.

As the days were passing by, he remains in isolation. His food supplies were running low, the utilities & network connections become more and more infrequent and the water supply of his apartment suddenly turned off.

One day, Oh Joon-woo starts streaming in his social media account to get help from people who might be watching to rescue those who are stuck in places like him. But because of poor network, he got no responds. About one & half month were passing by but he had nothing to do but wait for help. He becomes delirious & hopeless bit by bit. After becoming completely hopeless, he decided to commit suicide. On the edge of commiting suicide he saw a light of laser pointer that was indicating letters from his wall which actually meant that he is fool enough to commit suicide. Understanding the meaning of it gave him a hope to live. What do you think? Will he survive till last??

Some of the scenes in the movie may take a little creepy to make the whole thing real. The film has some flaws too. Most of its story were centered on only one character.

The ending of this film is common, but if you're looking for something thrilling & expecting a happy ending rather than the atheistic endings of other zombie films, You can watch it. Also you must use subtitles to understand the main story of the movie as only Korean language is used in the movie. A laid back gamer is homebound with no food, no weapons, and zombies knocking at the door in this spirited Korean twist on siege movies.

This film is as reflective as it is action-thriller packed & it is more likely a pandemic-themed
film. ALIVE has unpredictable plot twists which makes it more interesting. The film's bleeding
heart emotions are undoubted, the zombie stuffs are good enough with creepy choreography, creating some nightmarish extras. The storyline, camera work, character's acting and sound quality of this film was enjoyable. It's top-notch performance, special effects & background music are also very admirable.

ALIVE also shows the intense desire & struggle to survive of two different personalities knowing that death can happen at any time. So what are you waiting for?

Watch now and share your thoughts!!

Thanks for reading my review about this movie.
Til next time.

Xoxo :)
