@khursheedanwa My choice is the British band MUSE. I love that these guys don't hold back and don't conform to imposed standards - they experiment, and with every new album, you can never be sure what you'll hear. Their music incorporates not just rock but also jazz, electronic, classical, and even blues. Undoubtedly, they are some of the biggest experimenters of our time, and it's no surprise they have a ton of awards, including Grammys. Their lyrics often touch on politics, dystopian themes, conspiracies, aliens, and, of course, love. In 2019, I had the chance to attend one of their concerts in Lisbon, part of their Simulation Theory tour. While their albums are more moderate and not as hard-hitting, their live performances are pure rock - really intense rock! The experience was indescribable and something every rock music fan, whether they like the band a little or a lot, should see and hear live. For me, Matt Bellamy's voice, which is soft and atypical for rock standards, fits perfectly with the music they create. This makes their music appealing even to people who don't usually listen to rock. Matt is also the driving force behind their music and lyrics. What I know about him is that after his parents divorced, he grew up poor, which made him promise himself that he would never live like that again. His father was a musician, and that's where his passion started - first with the piano, then with the guitar. I should mention here that Matt holds the world record for smashing the most guitars during a single tour - 140 of them! 😃This happened during their Absolution tour. For me, MUSE is undoubtedly a phenomenon that has been shaking up the music scene for over 20 years and rightly remains at the top! 💗🎶

Hi @kozankzdra,

Great to read this review about MUSE and listen to the music while typing you this message! It's clear you are a big fan and I am here with you. 😁
I agree with what you write about Matt's voice it'sjust a pity of all those guitars. I consider them pieces of art.

🍀♥️

A brilliant voice in perfect harmony with the music. And Matt is a true rock star 😁 - though quite different from the rock dinosaurs. And that's the beauty of it - a different vision, a modern sound, and breaking stereotypes. What's interesting about them is that during their first two albums, critics from Pitchfork and Rolling Stone made some pretty biting and condescending comments, outright saying that the band wouldn’t go far... Well, today, 20+ years later, we can see where MUSE is, and those critics should be somewhere hiding in shame, crying in a corner.
Thanks for reading my post.

Thanks for sharing another song. I listened to it, it's good to have a great musical break in between mainly reading and commenting. I love the sound of the guitars and drums most but together it's a bouquet for the ears and soul.
I just added my entry. I hope you like my choice as well.

I wonder if there are rock lovers here, I never heard anyone mention it.

I replied to your previous post))) Great choice!

That's really great to know from you that British band MUSE is your inspiration!
You have also shared that what themes of music this band choose but I am curious to know that how in rock music police can play a role!
Well an excellent participation from you!

Is that a question or a statement? I didn’t understand what you meant about the police. Thank you.

Hello everyone. Hello @khursheedanwar, hello @wakeupkitty, and thank you for inviting me to discuss such an interesting topic.

In my opinion, rock is the best music genre, with so many great performers, amazing music, and incredible lyrics. That’s why we’re faced with a tough challenge of picking just one song.

I didn’t overthink it and decided to share this hit. As far as I understand, there isn’t an official music video for this song. And I have no idea why, because I’ve been enjoying it for years.

When I’m angry, only rock music can help me transform my anger into strength 🤣🤣🤣

I won’t keep this story going for too long and will finally present to you the musical piece I’m writing about:
Attack · System Of A Down

I love the beginning of the song—it’s relatively calm—and how it resonates with the crazy chorus…

It’s simply a masterpiece.

My husband is a big fan of rock music. One of his favorite bands is System of a Down. He really loves their song Chop Suey. Now, I also listen to the song with him. He says it would be amazing if I used this song as my alarm ringtone.

System of a Down - Chop Suey

This is a wonderful song. I gladly listened to it again. Thank you for sharing. The band is truly amazing!

Your choice is similar to your husband?
As you are saying that your husband is rock music lover!
I have not listened yet system of a dawn but it seems interesting!
Good luck for participating

Our tastes little bit differ, but we share some common interests. You should check out 'System of a Down' if you like rock. Thanks for the wishes.

the opening does sound amazing!

Good lyrics and the feelings are greatly performed. It would be good if you add some info about the band.
I am not sure if anger or frustration can be fought with sad music. It's better to let the energy out in a positive way and music is for sure one of these ways. Long is one for a comment, know you are read and it's great to share music/art.

That's true that in anger nothing can transform our mood accept the thing with which our vibes match like you can control your anger only on through rock music (May be it gives you an energy like a rockstar)!

Excellent participation!

Thanks you 😍

I really love listening to music. During my free time, I can't go without music. I listen to almost every genre of music, and rock is one of my favorite genres. I listen to songs from various rock bands, and there are many bands I like. Choosing a favorite band is actually very difficult for me.

@khursheedanwa Sir- I will choose Pink Floyd as my favorite rock music artist. I feel that their songs have a unique melody and deep emotion. Their music really feels amazing to me.

One of their most famous songs is High Hopes. This song is from their album The Division Bell. Its music and lyrics have earned a timeless place in rock history.

Here is the Song :

Songs Lyrics :

Lyrics from Youtube Music - SS

And I must mention something else.Long time ago I had created a video featuring pictures of my friends, and for the background music, I used this song.

Can you explain more specifically why exactly this band is your favorite? If someone asks me, I can give a very definite answer)))

I listen to music, but it's not like oxygen for me. I don't really have a favorite artist. Well I know nothing about the artist of my current favorite song, not even it's name (should I feel ashamed? Yes. am I? No.)

Among all artists, Imagine Dragons has the most tracks in my playlist, (Birds, Believer, Bad Liar, Monster, I'm so sorry, Love, Bullet in a gun, I dont like myself so an so) but I often skip them when listening on shuffle. Their songs have amazing lyrics, beats, and rhythm, but I need a particular mood to truly enjoy them.

To answer @khursheedanwar question, It's a very close tie between Falling in Reverse and Bon Jovi, but I'd have to give a slight edge to Bon Jovi. Since I have known it longer. I only have four or five of their songs that I like, but woah! they're incredibly good.

I'm drawn to Bon Jovi's songs for several reasons. First, the prominent drumbeat which is definitely a plus for me since I have a huge drum thing. I also love the way they carry a mind-blowing rhythm throughout the song and the chorus. Plus, their lyrics have a meaning and they are kinda love songs (I think, but I have no thing for love songs). A cherry on top Bon Jovi is pretty, like pretty handsome (fanning myself).

Again a close call between Bad Medicine, and You give love a bad name. (sighs- It hurts to choose) I will go with Bad Medicine, My favorite verse or lines are 2:00 and when the chorus comes at 4:20.

I still won't say it's my fav band, because I love individual songs rather than specific bands or artists. I feel bad that I had to choose one, because songs like Bohemian rhapsody, Voices in my head, Blood//water, VAN, exists. like okay I'm not putting my entire playlist here. (I need someone to feel me).

Good enough for me. I don't listen daily, no radio and the mood does play a role if it comes to the choice of music.

🍀♥️

Dear @khursheedanwar, Thank you for organizing this contest.

Not sure about you guys, but When I listen to good music I like to sing along with those music videos. If you like to do the same but don't know the lyrics, all you have to do is do a quick search on YouTube with the keyword "lyrics" in it. First type the name of the song and with it type the word "lyrics". By doing so you can find almost every song on the planet with lyrics on screen with perfect timing.

Now that's out of the way let me tell you about one of my favorite rock bands. Their name is Bon Jovi. Jon Bon Jovi is the lead singer. I love his music and listen to them almost every day. They also help me on not-so-good days. I can't mention only one song of his because I like most of them so I will leave a list of few of them for you to check out.

Livin' On A Prayer

It's My Life

You Give Love A Bad Name

Listen to them. I'm sure you will love them and will search for more of their music!

"stairway to heaven": a tunisian ode to rock’s eternal flame
In the heart of the mediterranean where the whispers of ancient carthage mingle with the rhythms of the sahara rock music often feels like a distant storm a thunderous echo from across the sea yet led zeppelin’s “stairway to heaven” transcends geography time and language for me a tunisian raised on the poetry of aboulkacem echebbi and the hypnotic strings of the oud this song is not just rock – it is a zajal (folk poem) of the soul a bridge between worlds.

Robert plant’s voice rises like a muezzin’s call not from a minaret but from a primitive temple of sound jimmy page’s guitar begins quietly a desert wind whipping through olive groves then erupts into a sandstorm of riffs that echo the raw power of our own folk rhythm the song’s progression from folky melancholy to volcanic crescendo reflects tunisia’s own journey: a land of quiet resilience that erupts time and again in revolutions of the soul.

The lyrics ,veiled in mysticism longing for a “lady we all know who shines white light” ,resonate with sufi yearning in tunis where the old medina’s labyrinthine alleys hide secrets and saints’ tombs the quest for meaning in "stairway" feels familiar it is a hadra (spiritual trance) set to distortion and drums .

Some here would disdain rock as "western noise" but art knows no boundaries when page’s solo pierces the sky i hear the shriek of the ney flute in a sidi bou saïd courtyard when bonham’s drums thunder i sense the heartbeat of the darbuka in a douz wedding this song like tunisia is a mosaic ,of influences contrasts and beauty created in fire.

To call "stairway to heaven" mere “music” is to call the colosseum of el jem mere “stones” it is a pilgrimage a prayer proof that even in a world fractured by deserts and oceans sound can unite us .

imagined by a tunisian listener weaving rock’s legacy into the tapestry of maghrebi soul*
