So first of all we properly define disappointment??

Disappointment is the feeling of sadness, frustration, or dissatisfaction that happens when something you hoped for, expected, or wanted does not happen.

Mostly the things that didn't happens according to us also cause disappointment in people.
Disappointment is natural, emotional and universal happening that everyone face in some stages of life either early or late. It can vary from less disappointment to severe means losing some goals in life.

•What do you understand by disappointment?

Disappointment means losing hope from goals if they didn't completed in life means if we didn't get a thing according to our wish it creates a huge disappoinment in us. Personal disappoinment is related to our own failures or shortcomings. While other is social disappointment which is caused by other's actions like neglecting or broken promises.

•Have you ever been disappointed before? what caused it?

Yes I also faces disappointment in my life one time. This is my personal story that before 2 years ago I was struggling for army selection. I attempted 4 times in Pakistan army job. Sometimes I didn't even pass army test. Sometimes I didn't pass physical test means I was struggling for 3-4 years but in my last and final try I cleared written test, physical test, medical test, interview but I didn't cleared my final medical test because of my weak eye sight. This was severe disappointment for me as I was struggling for 4 years and I didn't pass and didn't get job.

•Why is it so hard to deal with disappointment?

Dealing with disappointment feels hard because it touches several deep parts of our mind and emotions at once not just a single feeling. Disappointment also breaks our huge expectations. When you care deeply about something you invest time, energy and hope into it. So when it fails, it feels like loosing something valuable. Disappointment also effects delt esteem and loss of control in some situations. It also produce fear of future failure. So it is not so easy to deal with disappointment.

•What can we do to make disappointment Less painful?

Disappointment hurts because it breaks expectations something you hoped for didn’t happen. You can’t fully avoid it, but you can make it less painful and easier to handle;

1-Adjust your expectations.
2-Allow yourself to feel it.
3-Change your perspectives.
4-Focus on what you can control.
5-Practice self compassion.
