You probably don't know me, I haven't published anything in this community yet. And competitions are usually a difficult thing for me... I'm not big on rules, you know?! But: @patjewell asked a funny question. I'd like to throw a few thoughts into the round ;-))

What kind of car would I be, if I were one...?

I have already read many answers to the unasked question "What kind of car would you like to have?" So, if possible, I would want to avoid taking such a wrong turn in the topic. However, and this is where it gets tricky, I would certainly be a car that I appreciate for its features and would therefore like to have ;-))

But from the beginning: what do I expect from (my) car? It should be reliable, robust. Not too expensive to run, happy with little care and maintenance. Still functional, even if something breaks. Few frills. No technical gimmicks, no dependence on electronics and no smart functions. High performance. Simple straightforwardness. Flexibility. A muted, dark colour. All-terrain mobility. Safety on all roads...

And now let's take a look at my own profile: I am reliable and robust. My upkeep is low - I have few material demands and am quite modest about possessions. I prefer experiences - they don't have to cost much ;-)) I'm not quite young anymore and have accumulated a few bruises over the years. You could say the paint is off here and there and a bit of rust has accumulated in the knuckles. Nevertheless, I'm well on my way and live my life to my heart's content, active and on the move. I don't like frills and trinkets at all. I don't wear jewellery, clothes have to be simple and functional - the main thing is grey or blue or dark green. I use technology - and not the other way round. There is a simple smartphone and a computer. Then nothing for a while. I generally do without TV, Playstation, radio, VR or other toys. I tend to live offline and with all my senses, not by means of sensors and data banks. I like to perform, even if I don't have a competitive spirit. I am interested in my own limits, if at all, and not in comparison with others. Endurance and fitness are more important to me than breaking a record. I consider myself to be adaptable, to master difficulties when they arise. It is sometimes allowed to go with the head through the wall ;-)) I love to be out in nature, on foot or on horseback. Off the beaten track and far away from infrastructure and so-called civilisation, focused on the essentials and very often alone.

The car I would be is definitely a car I would like to drive. Even better: the one I've been driving for the last few years. I have rarely been as satisfied with a vehicle as I was with my Subaru Forester. It had quite a few years under its belt and kilometres on the clock and easily met all my requirements. We were a team!

As you can see, I haven't quite got over the fact that it was no longer usable for me after an accident. I am still very attached to the memory. Exactly how I experienced him would be me, so as a car. One would like to entrust oneself to me for a while and then think of me for a long time ;-))

Ihr kennt mich wahrscheinlich nicht, in dieser Community habe ich noch nichts veröffentlicht. Und Wettbewerbe sind für mich auch meist eine schwierige Sache… Ich habe es nicht so mit Regeln, wißt Ihr?! Aber: @patjewell hat eine witzige Frage gestellt. Dazu mag ich ein paar Gedanken in die Runde werfen ;-))

Was für ein Auto wäre ich, wenn ich denn eines wäre…?

Ich habe hier schon viele Antworten auf die eben nicht gestellte Frage „Was für ein Auto hättest Du gern?“ gelesen. Nach Möglichkeit würde ich also vermeiden wollen, so verkehrt abzubiegen im Thema. Allerdings, und da wird es schwierig, wäre ich wohl durchaus ein Auto, das ich wegen seiner Eigenschaften schätze und deshalb auch gerne hätte ;-))

Aber von Anfang an: was erwarte ich von (m)einem Auto? Es sollte zuverlässig sein, robust. Nicht zu teuer im Unterhalt, mit wenig Pflege und Wartung zufrieden. Immer noch funktional, auch wenn einmal etwas kaputt geht. Wenig Schnickschnack. Keine technischen Spielereien, keine Abhängigkeiten von Elektronik und keine smarten Funktionen. Leistungsstärke. Schlichte Geradlinigkeit. Flexibilität. Eine gedeckte, dunkle Farbe. Geländegängigkeit. Sicherheit auf allen Wegen…

Und nun schauen wir ‚mal auf meinen eigenen Steckbrief: ich bin zuverlässig und robust. Mein Unterhalt ist wenig aufwändig – ich habe kaum materielle Ansprüche und bin recht bescheiden in Bezug auf Besitz. Ich bevorzuge Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen – die müssen nicht viel kosten ;-)) Ich bin nicht mehr ganz jung und habe ein paar Blessuren angehäuft über die Jahre. Man könnte sagen, der Lack ist hier und da ab und ein bißchen Rost hat sich angesammelt in den Gelenken. Trotzdem bin ich gut unterwegs und lebe mein Leben nach Herzenslust, aktiv und auf Achse. Schnickschnack und Kinkerlitzchen mag ich gar nicht. Ich trage keinen Schmuck, Kleidung muß schlicht und funktional sein – Hauptsache grau oder blau oder dunkelgrün. Technik benutze ich – und nicht anders herum. Es gibt ein einfaches Smartphone und einen Computer. Dann kommt eine Weile nichts. Auf Fernseher, Playstation, Radio, VR oder andere Spielzeuge verzichte ich generell. Ich lebe eher offline und mit allen meinen Sinnen, nicht mittels Sensoren und Datenbänken. Leistung mag ich durchaus erbringen, auch wenn ich dabei keinen Wettbewerbsgeist habe. Mich interessieren, wenn überhaupt, meine eigenen Grenzen und nicht der Vergleich mit anderen. Ausdauer, Kondition ist mir wichtiger als ein Rekord. Ich halte mich für anpassungsfähig, meistere Schwierigkeiten, wenn sie vor mir auftauchen. Es darf dabei auch ‚mal mit dem Kopf durch die Wand gehen ;-)) Ich liebe es, in der Natur unterwegs zu sein, zu Fuß oder zu Pferd. Abseits der Wege und weit weg von Infrastruktur und sogenannter Zivilisation auf das Wesentliche konzentriert und sehr gerne alleine.

Das Auto, das ich wäre, ist definitiv ein Auto, das ich auch gerne fahren würde. Besser noch: das ich die letzten Jahre gefahren bin. Ich war selten so zufrieden mit einem fahrbaren Untersatz wie mit meinem Subaru Forester. Der hatte auch schon etliche Jahre auf dem Buckel und Kilometer auf dem Tacho und hat alle meine Anforderungen locker erfüllt. Wir waren ein Team!

Ihr merkt schon: ich habe es noch nicht ganz verwunden, daß er nach einem Unfall nicht mehr brauchbar war für mich. Ich hänge noch sehr an der Erinnerung. Genau, wie ich ihn erlebt habe, wäre ich, so als Auto. Man würde sich mir gerne eine Weile anvertrauen und dann noch lange an mich denken ;-))
