RE: If You Only See Yourself
I think a lot of it depends on where you are in the world. I don’t think Malaysia has the facilities for this. Like the dedicated sites, public showers, or even the basic safety required.
I recently watched a Japanese drama where a man had a full fridge and cooking space in his van, even hosting guests! Though, his wife kicked him out because he spent their savings to buy it.
I also think you should always take precautions to keep yourself safe. You need to adapt your motorhome accordingly. Perhaps a good guard dog is also important, and not just a small lap dog that only bites. A cell defence weapon or course is also no luxury. In addition, you will have to consider where you are going to park, because not everywhere is equally safe. A security camera is also a good idea. It is a strange habit of the Japanese to run off with all their savings. Unless they are married under a prenuptial agreement. I know a Dutch couple who sold their house because she wanted to buy a castle in France to renovate. She did that and he bought a houseboat. Both are happy and yes, still married.

True, safety is the priority when it comes to motorhomes.
In the drama, middle-aged man was sleeping in his car, not a motorhome, and he had to quickly turn off his lights when a group of youngsters drove into the lot to party. He was afraid of attracting their attention and causing a disturbance.
