Steem Power and why it is important?
Hello my dear Steemians
After my last post with our Visual Art creators I thought to do this post to explain why the users here on blockchain posting.
As you know we give away 5 Steem to those Artists who are showcased in @art-venture Magazine. One of the user said that he is financially fine and do not need Steem.
Recently, there were two very strong evidence what people can do together. First it was a story about Gamestop and its shares that almost ruined Wall street hedge fund early this year.
That brought me to the idea to do this post and explain why we need Steem.
First of all, this blockchain is Steem and has its own cryptocurrency with the same name Steem. How you can get Steem:
- You can buy Steem with your own money
- You can earn Steem by posting and sometimes commenting
- You can earn Steem when you take part in contest or like in our case when you are managed to be in our Magazine
After 7 days, the payout that is displayed will be paid, if you set up you payout 50/50 you will receive Steem and Steem Dollar, if you set it up 100% Power up them all payout will go to Steem Power
Steem Power or SP, if your SP is low then while upvoting you give almost nothing, like you can give 100% but the use will receive $0,00
But if you have higher SP like above 1K that will be noticeable.
@steemchiller has his great program that can show you everything:
- Your Steem Power
- Your Upvote Power and how much it is and when it will be recharged.
- You will be able to see if anyone mentioned you
- Of course, you can see who gave you vote, who you have upvoted and of course comments
- There are many other things to discover but I can just advised anyone to try yourself and find it for you
As newcomer you would like to be noticed that is why I would advice:
Think why you are here and what is Steem for you?
- Do not think about now and today, you can cash out payout but then your Steem Power is still low and you are still invisible
- For us, Steem is our investment for the future. We are Powering up since last three years and never Powered Down and not withdrawn any Steem.
- If the value of Steem will go up then what we have now also will gain its value.
- With investing in your Steem Power, you will be able to give more to others who you think deserve support.
If we have more people with high Steem Power, they can support each other and help to grow. It is like in real life, if the country or community is wealthy, the people who live there can live themselves and take care of themselves. Many strong user accounts make the community stronger.
Steem is not a sprint but a marathon.
My advice: 345% power up* for the community!
* You will achieve this value (and more) if, after a 50/50 percent payout, you swap your SBD in the market for STEEM and then it power up. This applies as long as the SPD price is significantly higher than $1 USD.
Absolutely agree with you, that is what we were doing. Earlier this year when the activity of users were low the users got much more payout because reward pool was higher. Nowadays the rate is good but reward pool shrunk :)
It's only easy to approach everything with a short-term gain in mind, but what is easily gained is just as easily lost...."Patience is a virtue"
by increasing our steempower we increase the amount we give to others through our upvotes (plus we also get some sp) and being able to give and make someone happy even temporarily is a wonderful feeling.
solidarity is the only way to success.
You are right .
My growth also increased by increasing my sp on steemit .
Hi @dine77, like us you are already here for a long time. It is noticeable once SP goes up users notice and give appropriate attention. Of course if in the past it was easy to buy Steem when it was $0,13 not with 80 cents it is an expensive deal. But posting and powering up this is the way to move forward :)
Gracias por este post @stef1, espero seguir creciendo en la plataforma!!
That is very important, getting stronger and more visible :)
Sé que es así.... seguiré trabajando duro para crecer.... gracias!😊👍
Thanks for the insight @stef1. It's so much preferable to switch over to the 100% payout in steem power. There is no better investment than investing in one's self. It's a shame not so many people share this same idea due to the different nature of circumstances around them, regardless,it doesn't deny the truth and essence in this post. However,I believe powering up is a duty we owe this platform and ourselves in general. Thanks for sharing once more
I think a lot of people have a very short-term mindset. Whereas I might not be ready to power up everything all the time, I view the "core" part of my little account here as way to have a "long term savings account" for my little charity. For example, our trademark registration is coming up for renewal in a few years, and it would be nice to save up enough to pay the +/- $500 with my blogging efforts. But I'm certainly not going to power down to pay for next week's supermarket trip!
In the meantime SteemWorld says my upvote is getting close to $0.01, so that's at least a tiny milestone!
Bright Blessings!
I agree with you, there are many in the situation when they need Steem and of course they have to withdraw but it is like for example an apple tree, that gives apples, we do not cut it down completely to get apples but still care after to get more apples next year.
It is nice to have you around :)
Well said : a whealthy community should be the aim of every steemer 🙂
As you know I love sailing ships, your paintings are beautiful
I think in my previous life I was a sailor and sailed with such beautiful ships.
You tell about Steem Power so that everyone understands how important it is.
We just have to keep informing, I think we can not do it often enough
Thank you for explaining these things. Cryptocurrency can be very confusing and the information about how best to use a platform like Steem is hard to find.
For example, I have been confused about when to choose 100% power up. Is there as much incentive for other users to upvote your post if it is 100% powerup, or is it better to share rewards with upvoters and then powerup later?
Yes, SteemPower is super important... and indeed, it is really important to take a long-term perspective here. I always advise people to treat the SP part of their account as a kind of long term savings plan that they can build but not touch.
In the meantime — as you build your balance — you become increasingly able to help fellow Steemians on their way with your upvotes. I'm particularly excited about the current higher prices of the Steem token because it has once again become viable to upvote worthy comments!
Edited to add: And yes, @steemchiller's SteemWorld tool is one of the best things we have around here, if you really want to understand what's going on with your account!
