The complex part of holiday planning
The most tedious part of any holiday I feel is about getting a Visa, so many documents are required. Last week I applied for Japan visa to travel next month on a family vacation. Yesterday I got my visa and I am super delighted. I never imagined planning a Japan holiday would be so tedious, the place is complex, especially it's travel system. And since I am planning all of this on my own I am all the more wanting to get as much information possible before I travel. When I applied for the Visa, I had to submit a whole lot of documents, but one document they asked I felt very strange about it.
They wanted me to share a detailed itinerary of my stay all through the 10 days. Now when you go on a holiday, yes you will have a plan but not necessary you will always follow that, the plan can be moved here and there, and what's the point of asking for a full itinerary. I have visited so many Countries but never had to share such details. Then I read some reviews, that when you land in Japan, at the immigration also they will ask you to show your itinerary plan. What if the plan goes haywire?
The other complex part about Japan is that almost everything needs to be booked in advance, and all prices are dynamic. I want to book the Universal studios ticket, and they are selling out fast, my only concern is that it is too early for me to decide on which date I will like to visit. These tickets once bought are non-refundable and they are super expensive. I am so confused, if I delay then probably I will have to pay higher prices or may not even get the tickets. I am ok to block tickets if the prices are refundable, but paying 100s of dollars for a non-refundable really puts me in a doubtful situation.
Anyways I am trying to wait for some more days before I start booking all tickets. My plan is to do it within a 1 month window time, but before that I need to be very sure of my itinerary and planning that has really been stressful. While I am so excited about this holiday, I am equally nervous.
