애기똥풀의 유래와 전설, 꽃말
애기똥풀은 줄기나 잎을 꺾으면 나오는 노란 즙이 아기의 변 색과 비슷하다고 하여 붙여진 이름입니다. 다소 독특한 이름이지만, 그 특징을 그대로 담고 있어 쉽게 기억되는 식물입니다.
전설에 따르면, 병약한 아이를 둔 부모가 어느 날 한 노인에게 이 풀을 받아 사용한 뒤 아이가 건강을 되찾았고, 그 이후 사람들은 이 풀을 ‘아이를 살린 풀’이라 부르게 되었다고 하며, 애기똥풀의 꽃말은 "보호", "치유", "희망", "순박함" 입니다.
