Stressful moments

My sister works with a Government Bank. Last week she received a letter from the HR mentioning that her posting is being done to another city. Normally in their case they do inter-city transfers on promotions. But that's not the case with her. She is not being promoted but she is being transferred. She is not ready for this as right now her son is studying in university and this shifting will disturb his education; he is still young and not in a position to be left alone. She is very upset because of sudden development and who will not be.

In certain Government jobs, this is one drawback that you can be posted in any part of India and you will have to shift, irrespective of whatever family situation you have. Government jobs have their advantages and perks but there are risks also attached with them.

Sometimes I do not understand, why do they have to keep moving people. They move Mumbai people to other cities and from other cities to Mumbai and likewise in other cities. Why can't they just let be people where they are and only move if there is a shortfall of manpower. It's always confusing me.

She spoke to the HR, but they are giving a deaf ear. Let's see what's in store for her. I am just hoping and praying that everything works out well for her.
