01 Building a Native On-chain Data Transmission Layer for Social Media Platforms

Steem’s delegated DApps can send social transactions or even transfer transactions on behalf of users. It also features resource credit delegation (similar to third-party gas fee sponsorship) and a blockchain database architecture tailored for social use cases. These characteristics make Steem an ideal Social Data Availability (Social DA) layer — when combined with smart contract chains, it can support blockchain’s large-scale user adoption.

Notably, the x402 protocol, which combines EIP-3009’s gas fee sponsorship and HTTP402’s payment opcode, helps the internet achieve a native payment layer. If Steem were integrated with social media platforms such as X (Twitter), Reddit, or Instagram, it could serve as the “value layer” for social networks.

Through TagAI, social oracle technology, Privy social login, web3 account generation via signatures (Steem accounts), automatic social authorization, and delegated $STEEMPOWER, users can now transmit on-chain data simply by posting or interacting on social platforms.

Whenever a user posts with the #TagAI hashtag, TagAI broadcasts the post to the Steem Blockchain on behalf of the user’s account.

Once broadcasted, all related data is securely stored on Steem Blockchain. Unique data types — such as on-chain community tags, minting commands, or tipping commands — can be broadcast via Steem’s custom_json module.

In this way, social media platforms become on-chain control panels, allowing users to interact with blockchain without wallets. Through social posting and engagement, users seamlessly perform blockchain operations. With smart contract chains like BNB Chain, Base, or Solana integrating with Steem’s trusted data, Steem data can trigger smart contracts for on-chain asset issuance, distribution, and trading.

Thus, social media platforms begin to partly replace wallets, becoming a universal entry point for blockchain adoption. All of this is achieved through the integration of social media databases and the Steem Blockchain.

02 The Value of Social Middleware to the Steem Blockchain

Since TagAI launched, @wherein has supported onboarding new users by delegating $STEEMPOWER ($SP) through this mechanism — enabling web2 users to participate in blockchain activities easily.

As of today, there are over 1,600 active users who continue to receive $SP delegation from @wherein.

If, for example, a web2 user receives 12 $SP delegated by a third-party DApp to help them join the blockchain, and just 1% of the world’s billions of social media users are delegated 12 $SP each, that would lock up 120 million $STEEM in total.

03 Bridging $STEEM to Smart Contract Chains and Forming Liquidity Pairs with Community Tokens

TagAI is building a cross-chain bridge to bring $STEEM to BNB Chain, where it will circulate as $TagAISTEEM ($TSTEEM).

This enables TagAI communities to form liquidity pairs with $TSTEEM on PancakeSwap. The BUIDL community will be the first to establish a $BUIDL–$TSTEEM liquidity pool. Furthermore, TagAI will bridge $STEEM earned by its accounts to BNB Chain and add liquidity to the $BUIDL–$TSTEEM pool.

Since the BUIDL community distributes rewards via a Proof-of-Brain (PoB) mechanism (15% of total $STEEM allocation), BUIDL will include liquidity provider (LP) tokens from the $BUIDL–$TSTEEM pair as part of its community credit (credit) system — giving LP providers enhanced advantages in PoB participation.

04 @wherein Supports TagAI and BUIDL with Upvotes

As a partner project of TagAI, @wherein will support TagAI’s development in the following ways:

1. Upvoting posts published by web2 users through TagAI’s proxy mechanism.
2. Supporting users who try TagAI and publish related posts on Steem by upvoting at least $1 worth of $STEEM.

For (1):
All posts tagged with #TagAI on X will be automatically posted by TagAI to the hive-150943 community on Steem. The rewards earned from these posts will be shared with the TagAI account and bridged to BNB Chain to add liquidity to the $BUIDL–$TSTEEM pool.

For (2):
Participants can log in to TagAI using their X account or email, where Privy will help generate their wallet address (see: TagAI Quickstart Guide).

After doing so, participants need to:

• Post content on X with #TagAI and #BUIDL; and
• Publish a post on Steem describing their TagAI experience (including a screenshot of their TagAI profile page).

@wherein will upvote these Steem posts with at least $1 worth of $STEEM for genuine, non-bot accounts.
BUIDL community members will also upvote posts shared to the BUIDL community, granting participants $BUIDL rewards.
