Big Storm⛈️💨 Grid outage 🪫🔋

We have had a major storm for the past 18 odd hours with 100 kilometer winds and plenty of rain, last night as the winds got up i checked the Powerwall battery level only to see it was at 5%🪫.

That was after a cloudy rainy day yesterday, so i decided to charge it up while i could nd by 2am we were back to 100%🔋.

We lost power around 4am this morning and the battery has kept us going nicely, now that the storm has passed mostly we have a grey cloudy day but we are producing power from the solar panels.

The weather forecast for the upcoming week is looking far nicer.

In other event i brought a couple of new Mountain bike tires for my ride, the current tire's are almost bald and needing replacing.

I decided to go top of the line and pay $230 each for a couple of MAXXIS 26x4.0 Minion FBF 26x4.0 / FBR 26x4.0.

These tires are similar but one is designed for the front tyre to help with steering etc, the one for the back has a grid pattern that focuses on traction.

These should be here within a week then they will be replacing the current ones.

Right now its stopped raining i feel a walk is in order.

Have a good Monday :)

That's poor!

As at this 2am that the battery was fully charged..., were you using a public utility to charge it...?

Also, if the power was 100% full at 2am and by 4am it discharges at that rate....it could be that your loads were much heavier or perhaps, the battery is getting weak. Do you experience this often even on days with much sun?

I am doing a research/program on Tesla product

Maybe i didn't explain it properly LOL

yep just the normal power grid to charge it

Powerwall was FULL by 2am and would have sat idle until the grid went down at 4am, then the 100% battery took over and ran the house for the next 15 hours.

If we had a bad day for solar generation then the powerwall level will suffer, we had a bad day yesterday for generation

Much clearer now. That means, nothing is wrong with the battery like I mentioned earlier.

Yeah, I get it. Low sunny days aren't sweet days for solar owners..., it's a general pandamic 😀

But even with that, there is no better steady electricity like solar in your home!

🎉 Congratulations!
