The Age of the "Dimwit" is Upon Us
I'll probably get a right earful of crap for this, but I've just gotta know if I'm the only one who feels this way. I'm talking about a programme that's currently sweeping across the nation like a plague of AIDS-ridden locusts. That being the horror show that is "Love Island". People are going loopy over this absolute putrid pile of shite and worst of all, my household is infested with it at the moment. Yes, my wife is besotted by it's unholy curse. The perfect bodies, the exotic locations, the individual brain cell knocking about it each of the contestant's heads. Sounds like a banning order is call for...
For the last fortnight, I've had to hide away in my office for fear of accidently listening to the ear-splicing natter of the participants on that show. Screechy, irritating howls of stupidity that make you wanna jump out of the nearest high rise. I just don't get it. The wife berates me for not giving it a chance by finding out how the rules work, but I can't. I can't bring myself to infect my brain with such wasteful information. I mean, it's bad enough me constantly checking the crypto markets whilst watching the price of my tokens spiral into oblivion. And I need the added stress of this show clouding my physical environment too?
"Love Island" seems to be the marmite of television land. Either you love it or you hate it. And both camps refuse to acknowledge the arguements of the other. I see it like this. Clear as day. It's mind junk. Brain drain. Mental seepage. Shit absorption through the eardrum. Watching scandily clad sex-starved buffoons who don't know that Europe is not a country or what the United Kingdom is comprised of, doesn't appear to be improving soceital intelligence in the slightest. If anything, it only contributes to the mass devolution and, ultimately extinction, of our race. What a depressing thought!
Sorry, but enough is enough. I just had to vent my torrid angst at the disease that is "Love Island" invading the premises where I reside. Life can be hell and until she stops watching this drivel, will continue to be for the fooresseble future. Ironic that the title of the show is as far from the truth as you can get. "Love"? Yeah, right! More like plain old "Fk"...
