thirtydayfitness - Day 14 - Keeping it Steady

I got home last night and really felt the HIIT exercises on my body, so took a rest night.

But today is another day, I don't know if I have lost any weight, but I have lost the kind of bloated, slightly sick feeling that I have had for a while and I can actually find a wee uplift in my energy levels.

So for today, rather than adding anything onto my regime I am just keeping it steady.

  • Drink Water
  • Take my time with my food
  • Actually taste what I am eating
  • Only eat when I need to, let's get a little bit hungry
  • Walk at least once a day
  • Every second day, do an extra exercise - I'm going to stick with the HITT exercises as @trevor.george so rightly pointed out, I probably won't lose weight by doing it, but I should get a bit fitter
  • Don't take it so seriously

Morning walk

I know that I won't always get the time to go for two walks in the work day, I'm always busy at work (as I'm sure a lot of people are) but when I get the chance to go for my two walks I will. It was a lovely morning, so thought I'd take a picture as well :-)

Lunchtime Walk

went for a nice walk with a work pal, it was a nice walk, but we definitely walked slower than my pace this morning, I think that it was probably because of all the talking ;-)

HITT Workout

I am going to do one of these every second or third day, but do intend to keep it in my fitness plan, so for tonight I have planned

30 seconds starjumps * 6
30 seconds running on the spot * 6
5 pushups * 6
5 situps * 5 @arekwolf, this is a more realistic amount for me to do :-)

Drinking water

I am definitely better at drinking water these days, I think that before i started this thirtydayfitness, I would go days without drinking water. I drink a lot of coffee so I think that this helped with the dehydration. But so far I have been aiming to drink four 500ml bottles of water a day.

There is only one small problem with that. My teensy, tiny bladder, I find myself going to the bathroom quite a bit, but I'm hoping that when my body gets used to the water my bladder might get used to having water!

As always, thanks to everyone who has supported me during this challenge, it is all very much appreciated.

Doing well!

You walked a fair distance today - that's around 5kms. Awesome!

Keeping it steady is a good strategy, as I said previously. don't go too hard too soon. Let your body get used to the extra exercise and don't push too hard yet.

In a month or two (or three) you can then raise the bar and start pushing harder and your body should respond. Then you'll be really surprised at how fast you get fitter and stronger.

Make the most of the lovely weather too. It hasn't stopped raining here long enough for me to even go for a short run all week.

My legs are getting twitchy..... hehe

@trevor.george you are so right, in the past I might have pushed to hard and lost a lot of progress.

This time I'm trying to lay a good foundation and keep moving slowly forward.

Slow steps will still bring me where I want to go :-)

I hope the weather clears for you soon before your legs get to twitchy ;-)

Get a prescription for pills that’ll relax your bladder, and you’re good, mate.

Problem is my bladder is to relaxed ;-)

Day 14 almost half there... nice photo

Thanks very much, it was such a lovely day today, I tight a picture would be nice.

Well done!!

That's a really well thought out regime. And sticking with those choices you'll be in to a great rythmn. It only takes something like 21 days for someone to attain a new "healthier" habit. And you seem like you're well on your way there.

And I can completely sympathise with the bodies reaction to a lot more water. It does get easier in my experience. It's amazing how much better you can feel just from drinking enough water. Like you I used to drink coffee like it was going out of fashion. Only now when I rarely havena coffee I can feel the difference. I think that also has something to do with the milk, but a black coffee is way too strong.

Its that healthy rythm that I'm looking for. Hopefully the routines will stick.

I definitely didn't drink enough water and my poor bladder just needs a wee bit of training.

As always thanks for the kind words and support.

You are my final reply before bed...Good night :-)
