On September 30, 2022. Steemit Inc, announced that it will dedicate $500,000 worth of STEEM tokens per year to support community-led development projects. The initiative allowed the implementation of several useful features that are currently being enjoyed used by the community on the Condenser and wallet. Unfortunately, only ~5.5% of that budget has been spent to this date due to various factors. Furthermore, late discussions are suggesting that the Steem community is now willing to complement the effort of Steemit Inc, by playing a bigger role in the development of the Steem blockchain via leveraging the Steem DAO for its intended role.
This post aims to act as an indicator of the overall sentiment of the Steem community concerning the use of the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) to fund development operations on the Steem blockchain and its essential gates. If the support for this proposal becomes higher than the return proposal. Witnesses as per their duty should establish a framework and a base methodology to kick-start development again. Starting with initiating a serious discussion on how to proceed and making sure that the DAO is safe from profiteers.
