Responsibilities in Community living
Our road work is progressing well. I am managing all the administration part pf this job, since I cannot be physically there for this work. Its quite a hectic job. First of all to get contribution from ever single member of the society is a challenge. Still only 50% of the members have done their contribution. Ours is a private road so our society has to do it, we approached the local government body if they can help us in any way. Their say was thay we contribute 50% and then the balance 50% they will. So the first half of the work needs to be managed by us and once we complete our part, they will finish the remaining.
Problem is every society member does not feel committed to the development of the society. Some feel, its not their job to think and for the same reason they do not wish to contribute. We have managed the work with the funds we have collected but if everyone pays up their share, we can do so much and make our place attractive. I would wish to make a small park and plant lot of trees, but it all boils down to funds.
As of now the priority is to get the roads done before the next monsoon arrives. They are in very bad condition and repair work is important.
You can see how bad it is, the cables are all lying out, which is not safe.
We have to create a good drainage system as it rains heavily in our region.
Working on the gate as well.
The sad part is this. Few of us are working hard to improve the look of our society and then some just do not feel responsible.
When we live in a community everyone has to feel responsible for its development and maintenance but only some are committed. Anyways the one who are active in our community are very much committed and with that much zeal also we can manage to do our work.
