Lack of civic sense
It is so annoying to see people not taking care of their surroundings. What I observe most of the time is people keep their homes clean and they conveniently throw their garbage outside their homes. I dont understand what are they thinking when they do this. Especially in a place where there is no one to clear the garbage.
A few days back when I was in India, at my home in the hills, this is what I see in my surroundings. Ours is a very new society with construction work still going on so we do expect some mess around, but then there are somethings which are completely intolerable. I can understand the construction work related debris and garbage but things that can go in the dustbins why should they be thrown out in the open, majorly the water bottles. Even the construction debris we have instructed society members to pile it up in one corner and then arrange for a garbage van to pick it up when the work is completed, but that too people do not want to follow. And these are the same people who spend fancy amount of money on keeping their homes clean, but outside of their home is not their business, this is what they feel.
Such a sad state of affairs this is, I do not even understand who to complaint. I try to do some clean ups in my surrounding areas but then this is a big place and it's not easy for me to do it. Moreover I feel that if someone keeps doing the clean up, probably these people will never realize their wrong doings.

All of this garbage can easily go in a dustbin then why do people throw it out on the road and pollute the environment. It's such a beautiful place and we are hell bent on destroying it by our filthy habits.

I assure you, it's similar in all parts of the world... Our Nigerian friends often write about how they are all legally obliged to spend a few hours every Saturday cleaning up the environment. Do you think that stops them from littering the same environment on the other six days? In Russia, there is a similar social system with the “Subbotniks.” Same effect...

@nainaztengra, this post really struck a chord! It's so frustrating to see the disconnect between people's personal cleanliness and their disregard for the environment around them. Your photos paint a vivid picture of the problem in your community in the hills of India, and your frustration is palpable. It’s commendable that you've even taken the initiative to clean up, despite the scale of the issue. I think you are right, that cleaning up after them, won't solve the issue.
Have you considered trying to engage with your community on this issue? Perhaps a small awareness campaign, or even just speaking directly to those you see littering, could spark some change. I hope that bringing attention to this on Steemit will garner support and perhaps some creative solutions from the community here. Thanks for sharing this important message! I hope this post inspires others to take action in their own communities!
