Family events

in #event22 hours ago

Lately I have been posting a lot about social events, and that's what this trip to Mumbai has been all about. There were couple of events to attend and still 1 more to go in the last week of Jan and then after that I will travel back to Muscat again.

This event of my friend's daughter Navjote ceremony was in the last week of December, it was in another city so me, hubby and a few of us friends had travelled there for 2 days. This is a very important ceremony in our tradition. It is done for all children in Zoroastrian religion by the age of 9 and with it the child gets initiated into the religion. If not done, then it cannot be done in adulthood.

Family and friends gather to celebrate the occasion and lots of love and blessings is showered on the child.

Sharing some pictures from the event.

A rangoli is done on the door step on every auspicious occasion in our culture. It symbolizes good luck

Once the ceremony is completed by the priest then all the guests will go on the stage one by one to greet the child and the family.

I enjoy wearing traditional attires on such occasions.
