Strengthening family bonds

in #family11 hours ago

When my son and his cousins were all small, me and my sisters used to plan a family vacation once a year so that all of of us could come together, bond and spend quality family time together. That's the way even me and my cousins grew up. We would gather for a few days during the vacation days at our granny's place and spend time together. That's how our bond is strong now also. When we had children we decided that even they should meet once a year and spend a few days together. All of them are based in one city, except for me and my family. Once a year I plan a travel there for few days and all cousins meet up, me and my cousins and my son and his cousins. I believe that's how the family bond gets stronger.

In our Indian culture family is just not about spouse and children. Family includes siblings, cousins, uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces. Though they are extended family they are no less then family. Since we have been in this culture for both the generations the advantage is that we do care a lot for each other and always there for each other. Even our children have adapted that because from childhood they have been close to each other. Last few days me and my son travelled to their city and we had an amazing time. I celebrated my birthday with full family and we had many outings together. Children had their own fun time. When they were small we had to accompany them, but now they are all grown up so they leave us home and have late night outings.

One of the days we went for a game of bowling all of us, which was super fun. We had to book 2 alleys since there were many of us. Some sweet memories of the good times spent together.
