Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi - Day 1

It's been a busy morning, finally the much awaited day has arrived. Since past few days I have been preparing for it, and just kept hoping that everything goes smooth. There were some obstacles but with Bappa's grace in the end everything worked out well.

Morning we had the priest come, who did the prayers and we did the Staphna ceremony of Lord Ganesha. I miss India during these days as the vibe is completely different there. The whole Country is rejoicing and everything there feels so much full of life. There are celebrations in almost every household. Though Ganesh Chaturthi is an Hindu festival, but it is celebrated in almost every household irrespective of religion and culture. The faith is so much there in Lord Ganesha that not only in India this festival is celebrated in almost every part of the world.

One can imagine what the vibe must be when in every second house there is prayers and chanting going on for these 10 days. There are Diyas lighted at the door and rangoli is done, sweets are made and rituals are performed through the day. My morning rituals are completed and now it's a little rest time. These 5 days that I will have Bappa home, I will be home all the time with him.
