Trying out some local Japanese food
I am not a person who likes to experiment much on food. I have a very limited pallet and I like to stick to that. Nevertheless during my travels once in a way, I take chance of trying out some local food, especially if there is a lot of hype about it. Everyone talks about Wagyu beef in Japan; it is a one must try dish for tourist. I do not eat beef, Son and hubby does. One evening for dinner we went to a restaurant which is famous for Wagyu beef. My Son curated some of the local dining places and we would visit them each day trying out different foods of Japan.
We ordered 1 dish of Wagyu beef and some other dishes as recommended by the chef. The presentation was nice. Wagyu came on a hot stone plate; it was thinly sliced and looked delicious. I was tempted to have so I tried a small bite and it was indeed very delicious, the meat just melted out in my mouth. I have never had such juicy meat before. I stopped at one, because as much as I enjoyed I hate the idea of having beef. I went in for another dish, which was also delicious. But yes, I can say I tried it and it was nice.
Wagyu cows are raised different in Japan. They have a special feed and are taken lot of care and they are in open environment which is less stress for them. While cooking this meat, there is only salt added to it to get the real flavor of the meat.
This is another meat dish with tofu, this was also delicious
