Belly fat after 40 isn't just calories. Hormones matter too

If you're over 40 and your gut refuses to go away, the problem usually isn't your discipline.
And it isn't just your diet.
Most men assume belly fat is just stored calories waiting to be burned.
But visceral fat doesn't behave like normal fat.
It behaves more like an endocrine organ.
That means it releases hormones and inflammatory signals that can:
• Lower testosterone
• Increase cortisol
• Suppress growth hormone
• Scramble appetite signaling
• Make your body store more fat
Which means the harder most guys try to "diet harder" or "train harder", the worse the cycle can get.
That's why so many men feel like they're doing everything right and still can't lose their gut.
The solution isn't another extreme diet or more random cardio.
It's changing the signals that control how your body stores and releases fat.
Heavy strength work.
Adequate protein.
Sleep that actually allows your hormones to recover.
Simple concepts.
But most guys never hear this explanation.
Stay strong,
Geoff Neupert.
