The first BBQ night of the Season

We are having a long weekend with 4 days holidays on the occasion of National Day here in Oman. Ideally I would take off somewhere for a short holiday, but this time my Son is here with me so we decided to spend it in the city itself. We do have things plan for every day, so it's not going to be a waste of time. To start the long weekend out first activity was the BBQ night with friends. The weather is amazing right now, till end of Oct it was warm and we were all wondering how long for the summer to end, and then suddenly first week of Nov, there was drop in temperature and since then it has been pleasant, which makes it perfect for outdoor activities.

As the winter sets in, every year we do a Barbeque with all friends coming together, and then we do it 3 to 4 times in the season. The first one is always very special because it happens after a long summer break. It's an outdoor activity so we wait for the good time. Sometimes we do it by ourselves and sometimes we hire a person to do it. If the crowd is small then doing it by self is fun, but if there are too many people then it becomes tedious. This time we were 22 of us so it was best that we outsourced it.

We had a mix of veg and non-veg food. Everything was done by the caterer, he brought all the food items marinated and then he only did the BBQ set up and did the BBQ for us and served us. That way we could all enjoy. Normally when we do it by ourselves then hubby is an expert and he does it, but in the bargain he is always on the job and it gets tiring for him.
