Nurturing the Essentials

A good healthy relationship is like a precious treasure. In the world where everything is based on convenience and ulterior motives, finding a right partner or having a healthy relationship with someone is like a blessing. But one must also remember that healthy relationships do not happen by themselves automatically, there is lot of work that goes behind the scenes to make it beautiful.

Being married 30 years and I can say happily, I have learned many lessons and one thing I need to highlight, that it's never been smooth sailing and happy all the time. Ample of ups and downs where we could easily give up on each other. Many moments we felt, it's just not working, how will we spend all life together, especially in the first few years of marriage.

One thing I clearly understand that communication is the lifeblood of connection in any relationship. If that stops, relationship will most likely fail. When such a relation is created, then it can weather any storms of life. The space that we give to each other to make honest and open communication which allows to share thoughts and feelings without any fear of rejection plays a big role in nurturing the relationship. Following with Trust, which is another key ingredient to a healthy relationship. If you do not believe in someone, how can you move ahead.

Also, mutual respect for each other plays a big role. No matter how many differences one has between themselves but one must never try to put down their partner in front of others, because then that's humiliation. All problems must be sorted behind closed doors. Support to each other brings respect in the relationship.

The chemistry in the relationship fades out if it's not nurtured well. The spark must always be there by finding the common things that you enjoy in the relationship to keep it cheerful and light and create a bond that's unbreakable.
