Stories are always told of winners

In sports they say it's ok to lose and one should play the game with the spirit of a good sportsman. Which is true, but to think of it who remembers the number 2 and 3 position. Stories are always made of the winners on number one position. The fact is that every sportsman has a story behind them, they have gone through their struggles, committed themselves to their games and yet not able to be the number 1 winner, so does that negate their efforts, and why is it that no stories are made on them.

Whenever I see any biopics I always feel but there are others also in the game who have equally participated and worked hard for it but their efforts are not brought to light. Such is life, people will only remember you if you are on number 1 position, number 2, 3 or after that will not matter much. And the fact is that there will be only 1 number 1, there cannot be more. So while preparing one must reach to that level where they can aim only for number 1.

While everyone prepares equally for the game, I believe that the ones who come on the first position must be doing something extra to reach to the level they are and there is no doubt on that and when stories are made of them it is to give recognition to that extra effort that they have put to prepare themselves for the game. Those who get to the top gets the benefit of shaping the narrative of what will be remembered and what will be forgotten.

Normally we celebrate the end result but to reach to that stage one goes through tremendous amount of struggles, setbacks, failures and I believe that the journey needs to be celebrated more then the end result. These are the stories of dedication, perseverance and commitment.
