Memories of Notre-Dam

in #travel17 hours ago

Yesterday I watched the Notre-Dam series on Netflix and it was painful to see such a beautiful marvel burned down. My first time in Paris was in 2011, and the very first place I visited in Paris was Notre-Dam, so it always has a special place in my heart. It is such a beautiful Cathedral, the building's architecture is magnificent and it does leave a mark on you. When you read such tragedies on news it's a different emotion, you do feel sad but you can absorb it, but when you see it, the feeling is miserable, it's difficult to absorb. I know it's a tv drama with a lot of dramatic twist, but still the incident is real and it was a great tragedy.

In 2011, it was a work trip, I was by myself. I fell in love with Paris, especially the Eiffel Tower, after returning from there it was on my mind to visit it again and so did I visit in 2016 again, this time with family. I repeated many places which I had been to during the first visit, and Notre Dam is one of them.

Sharing some memories of this magnificent place. I did not have a very good camera then, but still have good memories.

After the fire in 2019 it took 5.8 years to restore it back and in 2024 Dec it was opened again to public. I am not sure if I will ever visit Paris again, but if I do, I will surely visit Notre-Dam again.
