The Beaches of Santorini
If you visit Santorini in Greece, in the places to visit you will have these 3 beaches, Red, White and Black Sand baches, and they fall in the category of must visit places. Personally I feel it is a hype. Oman has much better beaches to brag about and these beaches of Santorini are nothing but a result of hype which is not even worth it.
The red beach can be reached by bus and from the bus stop there is a 10 mins walk, which is not very straight. Once I reached the beach I was shocked by the size of it. It is a mini beach and filled with people because of all the hype it has. The white beach can be only reached by a ferry. On reaching here I was not only shocked but utterly disappointed, it was a ultra small beach and more then sand filled with pebbles, again crowded with people. The black beach is the only decent one, and it looks like a proper beach with black sand. Also it has quite a few beach restaurants and souvenir shops. My hotel was very near to the black sand beach.
Some of these tourist attractions are over hyped by some people probably because they have not seen a larger part of the world.
This is the white sand beach which you can see is more pebbles then sand and exactly this much size.
This is the red sand beach, which yes the sand is red but nothing fascinating. To reach here it took me more then an hour and 20 dollars which I felt was an absolute waste.
The view indeed is gorgeous from the top and the water crystal clear.
This is the black sand beach, which is a proper beach. The beach is good but fully covered with loungers
When it comes to beaches, after staying in Oman and seeing the beauty of this places which is not even hyped I realize how beautiful and worthy this place is.
