Travel Diaries - #Throwbacks - On the way to Demavend
Tehran the Capital city of Iran is a vibrant city and full of contrast. Here you see the modernity as well as the traditional charm. I had visited Iran a few years ago with my family. It was a 18 day long tour, very hectic but every day was worth it. We started the tour with Tehran city, where our main place to visit was the Demavend Mountain, it's a mountain peak in the Alborz mountain range, which stands tall at 18400 ft, almost as high as the Everest Base camp. Tehran city is located at the foot of the Alborz Mountains, and you get the view of the mountains from many part of the city.
The city offers lot of sights which are all worth visiting, like the Golestan Palace which is a world heritage site, then there is the National museum of Iran, the Grand Bazar, the Milad Tower and so much more to see here. I was honestly not expecting Iran to be this beautiful. Before visiting I had a very different picture of Iran in my mind, but later it all changed. The only thing that did not go well with me in the place is that the females have to be all covered up all the time, and I am not used to that kind of dressing. Anyways the place is so beautiful that these little things can be compromised for once. After all it's their land and their laws.
We could get a glimpse of the Alborz mountains from the city roads.

These are some pictures which were taken on our way to the Demavend Mountain

We have reached our destination

This was a very friendly sheep who went in everyone's arms. Hubby too lifted him up and cuddled.

It's a destination worth visiting once in lifetime
